Full Job Description
Summary

Responsible for cooperation on introductory-level projects [Detail Project and Request for Quote (RFQ)] requiring limited organizational involvement and technical requirement understanding. Projects are to be accomplished with continual oversight by Lead Engineer or higher level engineering personnel.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Other tasks and duties may be required as directed.

  • Detail Projects (With Lead Engineer oversight/approval and cooperation with departmental team)
    • Cooperate on preparation of a project notebook to record all analysis and correspondence based on given examples and department expectations.
    • Become familiar with product design, engineering principles, company standards and related specifications.
    • Observe assembly, testing, development, and validation of new designs/prototypes.
    • Monitor project progress to assure quality and adherence to client specifications.
    • Cooperate on preparation of interim and final project reports, design review packages, and failure analysis.
    • Develop proficiency in interpretation of FEA analysis.
    • Attend design reviews both internally and externally.
    • Learn customer requirements under guidance of Lead Engineer.
    • Check drawings for industry standard format.
    • Observe industry goals for lean process improvement.
    • Perform basic stress and flow analysis.
    • Assist in First Run Hardware process
    • Create technical documents with Lead engineer support (i.e. AP, ATP)
    • Issue ECO's for design changes requiring actions.
  • RFQ Typical Requirements (With Lead engineer oversight/approval and cooperation with departmental team)
    • Prepare cross-sectional drawing (sketches)
    • Become familiar with technical specifications and share comments to support the RFQ response to the customer

  • Education/Experience
    • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university
    • 0-2 years of related experience and/or training
  • Language Skills
    • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
    • Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively-both verbally and in writing-with customers, internal teams, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate understanding of project requirements and deliver timely solutions.
  • Math Skills
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry.
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Skills
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer/ Office Skills
    • Basic windows/internet browser

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Physical Demands
    • Frequent Activities: Sitting, typing, handling objects, reaching, talking/hearing, lifting/pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs.
    • Occasional activities: Standing, walking, , lifting/pushing/pulling up to 25 lbs
    • Rare activities: Climbing/balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting/pushing/pulling heavy weights (50-100+ lbs)

    • Frequent: Close vision and computer work
    • Occasional: Ability to adjust focus and color vision

Compensation and Benefits Offered

Actual base salary offered to the selected applicant will be based on their work location, qualifications, job related skills, relevant education, and training experience.

Base Salary range Minimum $77,000 - Maximum $93,000 Depending on Experience
