About this Opportunity.

The Project Engineer, Construction and Development supports the Construction and Development team by assisting with the coordination of planning and construction activities across a variety of projects. This role helps maintain project documentation, support schedules and budgets, and facilitate communication among internal and external teams. This position reports to the Vice President, Construction Services and is well-suited for someone who is detailed-oriented, proactive, and able to apply sound judgment while supporting multiple projects in various stages of development.
Opportunity Requirements
  • 1-2 years experience in construction management and administering construction contracts and processing of same within the commercial real estate industry.
  • Experience working on multi-faceted development projects that may include tenant Improvement and capital projects.
  • Computer proficiency and working knowledge in calendar and scheduling, document management and control. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project or similar.
  • Effective oral and written Highly organized, self-starter and proven ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to think independently, apply sound judgment, and adapt actions to the specific context rather than perform tasks in a mechanical or prescriptive manner.
  • A solid understanding of development and construction language and documents.
  • BS/BA Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field highly preferred.
Summary of Responsibilities

The Project Engineer, Construction and Development plays a key role in supporting the Construction and Development team and the broader project management process by performing the following responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Assist Project Management with planning and construction for the development and stabilized portfolio projects, including new construction, remodeling and tenant improvements.
  • Coordination of Architecture and Engineering for the development and stabilized portfolio projects.
  • Review and dissemination of plans as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of related correspondence.
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of project budgets.
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of project schedules.
  • Attend meeting and organize and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Coordinate the processing of contracts with vendors, including the follow up and communications regarding the timely execution and return of all contracts.
  • Coordinate the routing of all contract documents to appropriate parties.
  • Coordinate insurance certificates with vendors.
  • Generate and maintain reports regarding status of above.
  • Perform project management and other duties as assigned.
  • Other duties may be assigned accordingly.

The base pay range for this role is between $43.2692 and $$54.0865 and your base pay will depend on your skills, experience and training, knowledge, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. This role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus as well.
