Job Description

As part of the Chassis Active Safety and Durability testing team, testing engineer will be responsible to manage testing and development activities as regards to Complete Vehicle Durability.

The role requires someone highly organized, objectively-focused, and with ability to manage their own daily routine.
  • Ensure the correct execution of technical projects.
  • Organize and manage test plan and other aspects of the project.
  • Organize and manage the tests samples (vehicle and test parts).
  • Ensure that test activities (preparation, execution, and analysis) are performed in accordance with the test procedures, test books and Industry standards. To do so, you will be required to develop a deep technical knowledge of test procedures.
  • Oversee project stakeholders and provide instructions, directions, and guidance to ensure optimal execution of their duties.
  • Participate, conduct, and support test activities performed in proving grounds, labs and/or on public roads, when necessary.
  • Collect and analyze the tests data, with specific software and analysis tools.
  • Generate technical report aligned with customers' expectations and internal quality standards.
  • Maintain efficient and timely communications with your supervisor at all times.
  • Participate in project meetings with customers, suppliers and other relevant parties involved.
  • Manage and enhance communications with customers and other stakeholders.
  • Provide interactive and manual support to mechanical and testing activities, including but not limited to vehicle preparation and driving, when required.
  • Ensure general housekeeping of working (office and workshop) environment.


Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor or Master's degree, mainly Mechanical Engineering.
  • Committed, goal driven, with successful result orientation and with strong service orientation
  • Automotive technical knowledge of main vehicle component functions and behavior.
  • Experience with engineering software, data acquisition instrumentation and objective vehicle testing is an asset.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes in projects and a continuously evolving industry. Must be able to improvise.
  • Good communication skills and confident in discussions at different hierarchical levels.
  • Must be a team player. Must be able to work within and across various company departments.

Additional Requirements:
  • Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work extended hours. Mandatory overtime and weekends may be required.
  • Willingness to travel (either locally or internationally).
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Must be physically able to support test preparation and execution in an outdoor environment.
  • May require heavy lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Meet all workplace health and safety requirements and practices.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, sit for lengthy periods and use hands for various functions such as typing and using various hand tools.
  • Must be able to work from hand-written data sheets and memos.
  • Maintain a clean office area and work environment.
