Full Job Description
The Project Engineer supports the development, execution, and continuous improvement of Atlas Pressure Control products and engineering initiatives. This role is responsible for translating customer and internal requirements into compliant designs, documentation, and engineering deliverables while supporting change management, qualification testing, and quality investigations. The Project Engineer works closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Sales to ensure products meet performance, safety, and API requirements throughout their lifecycle. This position plays a key role in maintaining engineering standards, driving design improvements, and enabling efficient execution across projects and operational needs.

Requirements

Essential Functions

• Interpret customer requirements and apply knowledge of engineering principles and company standards for product design and documentation.
• Assist and respond to engineering work requests (EWR) and engineering change notifications (ECN)
• Develop and review designs, drawings, specifications, etc. of existing or new products. Ensure that assignments meet standards and performance requirements.
• Assist in the investigation of field failures; evaluate root cause and recommend corrective actions.
• Investigate non-conformances (NCRs) and supplier deviation requests (SDRs) and issue clear dispositions, including use-as-is, rework, or scrap.
• Conduct equipment qualification testing as required and produce engineering test reports of the results
• Ensure product and system quality by developing test methods, validating finished-product performance, and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
• Consult with engineering groups and equipment designs, questions, and product specifications
• Write departmental related specifications and documents as required
• Continuously monitor API 6A and API Q1 specification updates and ensure full adherence to all certification requirements.
• Identify and recommend processes for design improvement and innovation
• Must be a team player who collaborates across functions and builds strong working relationships with Supply Chain, Inside Sales, Service, and Operations.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. The role also requires periodic travel to field locations to support wellhead operations and investigations.

Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Travel

Frequent travel to Atlas Pressure Control facilities and field locations we operate in.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (prefer mechanical or Aerospace)
  • 3-5 years of experience in wellhead equipment, pressure control systems, or API 6A-governed products
  • Knowledge and use of ANSI, ASME and ISO Drafting Techniques and Geometric Tolerance; API/ISO Product Requirements; Basic Stress Analysis; Development and Control of Design Documentation
  • Specialized (Advanced) Computer Skills, Advanced Language Skills, Advanced Mathematical Skills and Advanced Reasoning Ability
