Job DescriptionIn this role, you will lead a cross-functional team in the design, fabrication, test, and integration of ground and space-based electrical harnesses. The cross-functional team could include but is not limited to engineers in the following disciplines: Electrical Systems, Mechanical Packaging, Parts & Reliability, Radiation, Production and Test Engineers.
What You'll Do:- Lead a team to deliver on project cost, schedule, and technical requirements supporting our harness products.
- Will be responsible for harness system cost, schedule, and technical scope along with driving critical risk-based decisions throughout program life-cycle.
- Provide and communicate understanding of both the technical and programmatic aspects of a project to the project team.
- Ensure staffing levels are met by communicating with appropriate functional management organizations.
- Assess risk and make risk-based decisions throughout project lifecycle to ensure project objectives are met.
- Develop harnesses to quality and reliability standards for NASA, DoW, and NOAA customers.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working
on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions: - Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
Required Skills and Education- BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 6 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Knowledge of the lifecycle of development for electrical harness projects from start to finish.
- Demonstrated experience in generation and tracking of schedules using MS Project or similar tool. Understands schedule logic for own area of responsibility and how it relates to other areas.
- Has understanding of how related technical disciplines affect the design and implementation of their items.
- Subcontract management. Demonstrated experience in management of aerospace industry suppliers.
- Identifying suppliers, make/buy decisions, proposal evaluation, and authoring of effective contractual documents including SOWs and specs. Managing subcontractor performance throughout their full period of performance while proactively addressing technical and programmatic issues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and conflict management skills, communication skills, and an ability to lead group discussions.

Preferred Skills and Education- Electronic harness project execution leadership experience and/or Harness design background
- Experience with Aeronautical/ Aerospace Payload and/or Space Vehicle technology through program work for NASA, NOAA, DoW, and classified customers.
- Working knowledge of requirements that lead to "flight space qualified" electronic harness programs and radiation-hardened environments.
- Experience specifying and ordering Electrical/Electronic Engineering (EEE) parts.
- Demonstrated results leading development teams to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.
