We're seeking an action-oriented project engineer with intellectual curiosity who is excited to utilize their potential within the System Test Team in support of testing space flight hardware. In this role, you will support the Space Vehicle System Test team by serving as the primary focal point for the management of all Electrical and Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE/MGSE) used in the testing of space flight hardware.
What You'll Do:- Project & Lifecycle Management: Develop baseline cost estimates and schedules; actively manage performance, provide updates to forecasts, explain variances, and support the team to meet all cost and schedule commitments specifically within the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) domain.
- Technical Leadership: Manage or support team performance to meet technical requirements by guiding technical discussions, promoting collaboration, and making risk-based decisions.
- Risk & Opportunity Management: Proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate risks and opportunities throughout the GSE lifecycle.
- GSE Technical Oversight (Electrical & Mechanical):
- Manage software and hardware updates for all program GSE to ensure equipment remains serviceable and compliant with safety, security and ITS requirements.
- Support the procurement of strategic spare GSE hardware to mitigate risks of failure during testing execution and manage proactive hardware replacements.
- Coordinate hardware maintenance and upgrades (e.g., UPS battery replacements, mechanical wear-and-tear repairs).
- Collaborate with production and AI&T teams to ensure all Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) and Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) are mission-ready, including reviewing/inspecting equipment prior to use for testing.
- Facilitate the proof loading, certification, and calibration of all GSE prior to use.
- Information Assurance (IA) & Security Coordination:
- Partner with program IA to secure approvals for all hardware and software used in sensitive areas.
- Develop and establish Concept of Operations (CONOPS) for the ingress and egress of hardware requiring calibration or external use from sensitive areas.
- Organizational Integration: Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, Strategic Business Units (SBU), Strategic Capabilities Units (SCU), and the Company to foster a positive and productive work environment.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working
on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions: - Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
Required Skills and Education- BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 4 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
- Proven experience managing technical projects (electrical or mechanical) from conception to completion.
- Solid understanding of program lifecycles and test processes (defining strategies, plans, and procedures).
- Experience or knowledge of Ground Support Equipment (GSE), including test racks and mechanical fixtures.
- Foundational awareness of Information Assurance (IA) processes.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage complex, ambitious projects.
- Willingness to learn new functional areas as required, including IA, Supply Chain, Security, ITS, and GSE maintenance.
