POSITION OVERVIEW: As a
Project Director at LJA
Transportation, you will be responsible for providing in-house production work upon request, and training in our area of expertise. We provide project management support for all phases of a project's life - preliminary engineering, final design, construction inspection and maintenance and asset management - to accomplish the client's goals and needs.
A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:- Building relationships and growing business in the transportation sector.
- Develop business by a marketing company to existing clients and as well identifying and marketing to new clients.
- Meeting with cities, counties and local agencies for business development purposes.
- Responsible for design calculations, plan preparation, and direction of schematic designs for TxDOT and local government projects
- Manage and maintain project schedules and financial requirements
- Uses advanced techniques, theory, precepts and practices in a specialized engineering field and related sciences and disciplines.
- Sr. Project Manager will interact with Client and other consultants and must have good communication skills.
- Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:- Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering is required
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:- 20+ years of experience with Microstation, Geopak (or Open Roads) and TxDOT procedures a must
- Experience with Civil 3D is a plus
- Multiple levels of responsibility are available with PE preferred
- Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needs
- Proven experience in handling project management responsibilities including multiple deadlines
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients and internal employees
- Ability to build strong relationships
