Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Project Director to join our Mobility Global Business Area (GBA) in Canada. You will be responsible for managing the delivery of projects to meet time, quality, budgetary and health and safety targets. All aspects of the client relationship so that delivery meets or exceeds client expectations. Take a leadership role with the project team, providing both direction and technical advice and leading by example where appropriate, while promoting both the regional and global culture of the business.

Role accountabilities:

The successful candidate will provide sound and effective leadership to the team, providing direction and technical advice, leading by example to achieve company goals and championing a quality culture. You will communicate with team members to ensure that they understand, and become engaged with, the project strategy, brief and client requirements. You will develop and manage the Project Program and obtaining the buy-in of all stakeholders while ensuring that effective financial and project management controls are in place and deployed to enable monitoring, modification and forecasting as appropriate. You will continually look to enhance productivity through improved processes, procedures and systems while maintaining an overview of the commercial aspects of the project (contract, invoicing, debt, client management). Additionally you will communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure that all parties are kept informed on all relevant matters impacting and influencing projects. You will manage the acquisition, deployment and management of resources for the project to ensure optimal resource allocation for the project and direct the assessment, selection and management of suppliers, sub-consultants and contractors associated with projects. This role will also be responsible for:
  • Driving project performance, service delivery and technical and commercial outcomes and undertaking reviews, ensuring client delivery is above expectation
  • Ensuring that completed engineering and documentation work is reviewed for technical, Arcadis and client compliance
  • Ensuring risks are proactively identified, assessed and managed to avoid adverse impacts on the project
  • Working to ensure maximum client satisfaction, championing client care and proactively working with the client
  • Reviewing the performance of team members and developing them to their full potential
  • Engaging in Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's University Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • 15+ years of Project Management experience as well as 10 + years in a Transportation/Transit related discipline

Preferred Qualifications:
  • P.Eng. (Eligible for Membership with PEO) preferred
  • Postgraduate qualifications in business, finance, or project management related areas an advantage
  • Experience in leading design in a consultant organization and working in a tendered design services environment
  • Sound commercial background, including familiarity with contractual conditions and procedures, including international conditions and ability to take commercial responsibility for a project
  • Experienced in leading, and working with, people from varied backgrounds and cultures

The salary range for this position is $114,590 - $212,810. The base salary represents Arcadis' hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
