Zachry Engineering Corporation (ZEC) has an exciting opportunity for a Project Director - Gulf Coast, experienced in leading Power Generation projects with a preference for having experience in Simple and/or Combined Cycle Gas Turbine technologies. Project Director will oversee the engineering team on large cap projects during EPC execution. The Project Director is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering efficient/cost effective solutions, compliance of SOP's, and execution of the project scope. The Project Director has overall authority and responsibility for execution of the project to produce all engineering work safely, maintaining quality, and within budget and schedule, in compliance with contractual terms and conditions, as well as company policies. The Project Director is the primary contact with the customer on matters relating to the project. Project Director reports to the Director of Projects or Operations Manager on progress of the project, quality, budget, schedules, changes that necessitate contractual modifications, procedures, and status of customer relations.

Responsibilities
• Responsible for the Zachry approach and methodology in large-cap EPC programs and related alliance type relationships that go beyond engineering-only.
• Provide oversight into the development of execution plans, project schedules, work packages and monitor production to assure timely project completion. This includes local and overseas HVE teams.
• Collaborate across Zachry businesses to realize the strategy.
• Oversee and assist in the Execution Planning during proposal.
• Assist Sales and Operations with establishing program team/s.
• Establish and grow our Best Practices related to the above.
• Review cost reports and perform analysis to assist in reducing costs and maintaining productivity.
• Establish project labor requirements and review the requirements with corporate management.
• Establish and define the project organization, the project staffing requirements, and coordinates staffing with supporting organization managers.
• Provide strong, effective, and decisive project leadership and establishes an execution framework to provide the safe, quality, value, timeliness, and budget of the total project execution.
• Conduct regular project inspections and advise project supervision of work progress, quality of work and safety conditions requiring attention.
• Coordinate work with subcontractors to ensure all subcontract work is within project scope and specifications. Administer project policies and procedures to subcontractors.
• Establish and maintain effective client relations to achieve active cooperation, team alignment, and stimulate the desire to award follow-on work.
• Coordinate with engineers, inspectors, and client/owner representatives to isolate project problems and assist in developing solutions.
• Continually monitor projects to assure adherence to company and regulatory procedures.
• Monitor project purchasing activities to assure quality material and timely delivery at competitive costs.
• Conduct regular meetings with project supervision to review project progress and to plan future construction activity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in engineering in a related discipline is preferred. However, equivalent experience in lieu of education may be accepted.
• At least 10 years of experience as a Project Manager/Director.
• PE license is preferred.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience predominantly in Simple/Combined Cycle Turbine Power Generation.
• EPC Project Management experience is required.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to work well with others.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Detail oriented and willingness to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary.
• Ability to pass a post offer background check including a Motor Vehicle Report investigation and drug screen.
• Understanding of project controls, scheduling, progress measurement, risk assessment, change management, cost control and estimating process and planning.
• Working experience or applied knowledge of: Electronic Document File Management and Web Based Document Management Software (Such as Documentum or SharePoint), Primavera or industry scheduling software.
• Experience working with project proposal development group for project opportunities in EPC detail design, but also in FEL and FEED studies.
• Experience in overseeing and managing overseas High Value Engineering offices and their assigned scope.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employees will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. Position may include visits to construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hardhat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and work boots.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees will predominantly work in the home office environment but have the ability to work in multiple environments, including an operating plant, the client's office, or potentially in a trailer or building on construction sites. At operating plants and construction sites, noise levels will be moderate to high. Job sites may contain the following: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking. Noise levels vary and may include bells, whistles, and alarms.
