Full Job Description
As the leader of the Pre-NTP Projects Development team the lead Generation Project Manager will be responsible for oversight of all technical aspects of the generation development projects, including the development of the Technical Specifications for the projects, coordination with all departments in the AES Indiana and AES Corporate organizations to support all regulatory approvals, environmental permitting, electrical interconnection coordination, commercial development, land development and full development of the EPC Contracts for the projects. These development responsibilities will span from initial Feasibility Studies and technology selection to development and signature of the EPC Contracts. [This role can develop into a full Project Manager role during project execution]
Responsibilities:
• Provide Safety Leadership in all aspects of the Project.
• Mange the development of the technical Feasibility Studies for each project based on economics and performance to fit the growth needs of AES Indiana and define all key project parameters.
• Manage and coordinate with all AES Indiana Departments including Regulatory, Environmental, Legal, T&D (Interconnection), Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations during the development phase
• With the support of Owner's Engineers and other consultants, develop the Technical Specifications for the projects that will be used as the basis for selection of the EPC Contractors.
• Work with the legal department to draft EPC Contracts for the Projects Coordinate with Supply Chain for the issuance of the RFP (Request for Proposal) for the selection of the EPC Contract
• Negotiate and finalize the EPC Contracts with winning bidder including all Technical Specifications while maintaining alignment with all AES Indiana Departments Develop and finalize full execution budgets for each of the Projects
Studies and Experience:
• Mechanical/chemical/electrical/electrical/hydraulic engineer or related studies. BS or equivalent degree in engineering or other relevant technical area required.
• Proven experience in technical management including the design of large CCGT and other generation projects. Ideal candidate has construction and commissioning experience for conventional generation (fossil fuel) projects
• Experience in reading and understanding project schedules and project schedule principles
• Minimum of eight (8) years, specifically in project management, general related work experience greater than 10 years.
• Demonstrate exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge and proficiency in current technical programs required (Office, MS Project, etc.)
