Project Overview:

We are looking for top talent to join the Renewables & Clean Power business to deliver the largest natural gas projects in the company's history. This project is a nominal 2500MW "behind the meter" power complex that will provide electrical power directly to an adjoining data center complex and will be designed for an optional grid interconnection in the future. Bechtel is currently supporting our customer to define the behind-the-meter scope and design basis for the project which will utilize multiple technologies, including Solar T350 Turbines, BESS, temporary load banks, an AIS substation/microgrid and GEV 7HA.02 combustion turbines to deliver reliable and responsive electric power generation. The delivery of each of these asset classes are projects in and of themselves, so the project will be structured accordingly with a project manager over each tranche of power asset class delivery. The project will be located 30 miles southeast of Pecos, TX, 80 miles west to southwest of Midland, TX. Draft project assignment conditions are available and are meant to offer flexibility to allow the various needs of our top talent to participate in this revolutionary project.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will coordinate development and author project reporting including cross-functional input, compiling information received, status input, incorporating into reporting deliverables, and reviewing for quality. You will assist in basic cost control, schedule development, maintenance, monitoring, and programs. Your attention to detail and support will be key to project success. #LI-ML1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Establishes work sequence and activity durations for a specific discipline or specialty. Determines interdiscipline constraints or interfaces that define activity sequences. Works with performing organizations and units to coordinate work sequences with total project plan. Develops and applies installation rates to quantity takeoffs and developed quantities within a discipline or other specialty.
  • Develops quantity release or installation curves for a specific discipline or specialty. Reviews quantity logs to ensure total quantities are represented for a particular discipline or specialty. Assists in developing required jobhour expenditure for a specific disciplineor specialty. Assists in determining leveling decisions. Performs quantity and manpower resource loading for assigned schedules.
  • Assists discipline groups in determining what information is required from other disciplines to support schedule activities and how to interface with the assigned discipline or specialty. Provides schedule knowledge on a continuous basis to assist in discipline planning and interfacing with others.
  • Performs schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and updating functions for specific applications, disciplines, or specialties. Assists in the development of requirements for updating and monitoring the schedule.
  • Prepares schedule, staffing, and quantity progress and performance reports for assigned disciplines or specialties.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires a minimum of 4-6 years of related experience
  • Associate degree or related technical training preferred


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control, and analysis, in the field and the home office.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication.
  • Proficiency with PC operating systems, with proficiency in several basic software applications.
  • Proficiency with multiple discipline specific software applications currently used in Bechtel (Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office Applications, for example).
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes, as performed by Bechtel.
