The Opportunity

Build the Future with Us

Play a key role in delivering Ground Engineering projects for our Earth & Environment (E&E) clients across BC & Yukon, supporting complex work related to geotechnical investigations, earthworks, foundations, and critical infrastructure development.

As an Project Controls Analyst, you will be a trusted partner to Project Managers and technical teams, strengthening cost control, forecasting accuracy, and schedule performance across a diverse portfolio of ground engineering programs. Your work will directly support informed decision-making, risk mitigation, and successful project outcomes in a fast-paced consulting environment.

You'll apply your strong analytical skills and financial acumen to monitor budgets, track performance, and identify emerging risks early, while helping project teams navigate rebaselining, change management, and performance recovery when required. Working closely with geotechnical engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary stakeholders, you will ensure project controls practices align with contractual, regulatory, and internal requirements.

In this role, you'll also contribute to the growth of our project controls capability by mentoring junior team members, enhancing reporting and dashboards, and supporting consistent, best-practice approaches across the portfolio.

Your Impact
  • Support the project delivery of ground engineering across British Columbia.
  • Implement and maintain project controls plans aligned with contractual, regulatory, and internal requirements.
  • Guide and assist PMs with project rebaselining logic and guidelines when triggered by budget or performance deviations.
  • Monitor cost budgets and progress and take timely action to address issues.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, accruals, cashflow, and cost tracking across a portfolio of ground engineering projects
  • Support initial project risk assessment and contingency planning
  • Track planned value, actual cost, earned value, and schedule performance, identifying risks and trends early
  • Contribute to monthly project reports, dashboards, and management reporting packages for project and business leadership
  • Support baseline development, change management, and performance recovery strategies
  • Coordinate with the Project Team to validate progress, scope, and forecasts
  • Mentor and support junior and intermediate project controls team members, strengthening project controls capability

  • Diploma or degree in Project Management, Business, Finance, Data Science, or a related discipline
  • 7-9 years of progressive experience in project controls or cost controls within consulting, engineering, or construction environments
  • Strong proficiency in Oracle Financial tools, Excel, forecasting, and financial analysis, including variance analysis
  • Experience with MS Project and/or Primavera P6; ERP or project financial systems experience is a strong asset
  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and confidence working with senior project team members.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $ 89,800 - $118,900
MB & ON: $81,900 - $112,800
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $81,100 - $107,700
