  • 10+ years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control, and estimating.
  • Preferred certifications from AACE International or PMI.
  • Proficient in SAP and Ariba software.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially Excel including formulas and pivot tables.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with Project Managers to clarify requisitions and ensure completeness.
  • Support and document the Change Management process.
  • Create and code requisitions to Contractors.
  • Assist with the monthly Value of Work Done (VOWD) tracking and documentation.
  • Support the Project Controls team in process development and improvements.
  • Perform monthly Goods Receipts (GRs) for Capital Project purchase orders.
  • Monitor and forecast project commitments and expenditures.

Full Job Description
What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope: Generally responsible for planning and scheduling heavy industrial engineering projects, monitoring project costs and/or estimating projects. Work will be performed under minimal supervision.

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Engage with Project Managers to ensure requisitions are clearly defined and contain all necessary documentation.
  • Support the Change Management process.
  • Assist in the creation and coding of requisitions to Contractors.
  • Supports the monthly Value of Work Done (VOWD) process by requesting and documenting Contractor returned progress.
  • Supports the Project Controls team with work process development and improvements.
  • Perform monthly Goods Receipts (GRs) for Capital Project purchase orders.
  • Support capital project closure process once a project is substantially complete.
  • Timely closure of purchase orders in SAP / Ariba
  • Track, monitor, forecast project commitments and expenditures
Ideal Background

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field is highly preferred.

Certification: AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is preferred.

Experience: This position requires 10 or more years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Degree from an accredited university or college, or in lieu of a degree, High school degree and 4-6 years of relevant experience supporting capital projects as a cost analyst in a manufacturing and chemical/refining environment.
  • Use of SAP
  • Working knowledge of Ariba
  • MS Office Suite
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Prior experience in a capital cost analyst role supporting capital projects.
  • Basic Cost Management knowledge
  • Safety Council training
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to challenge effectively and professionally.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to communicate effectively in different group settings.
  • Demonstrated ability in prioritizing daily activities along with strong analytical skills and data analysis.
  • Ability to consolidate data into key metrics and communicate them effectively.
  • Excel knowledge, formulas, pivot tables
  • Knowledge of earned value and cost progress processes

  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
