Project Controls Supervisor (E7)

Job Summary

The Project Controls Schedule Supervisor will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for a team of Scheduling Analysts supporting a multi-year capital portfolio within GPC Distribution, with responsibility for schedule development, progress tracking, critical path analysis, and performance reporting at a project-level that informs leadership decision-making. This team will ensure the GPC Distribution organization has robust scheduling processes, tools, and timely communication in place to effectively manage project timelines and delivery expectations.

The successful candidate will work closely with other Project Controls groups, the Distribution organization, and cross-functional partners to support integrated planning and execution across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Scheduling Analysts supporting a multi-year capital portfolio, driving delivery performance through coaching, goal setting, and continuous feedback.
  • Oversee development, integration, and maintenance of project schedules to ensure alignment with scope, milestones, and organizational standards.
  • Direct schedule progress tracking, forecasting, and performance analysis, enabling timely and informed leadership decision-making.
  • Perform and guide critical path analysis, evaluating dependencies, constraints, and risks impacting project execution.
  • Proactively identify schedule risks and delays, developing and implementing mitigation and recovery strategies to protect project timelines.
  • Deliver clear, concise schedule reporting and presentations, translating complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Project Controls, operations, and business partners to support integrated planning and portfolio execution.
  • Establish and enforce standardized scheduling processes, tools, and governance practices, improving consistency and operational efficiency.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing scheduling methodologies, systems, and team capabilities.
  • Communicate schedule health, risks, constraints, and recovery plans to leadership, influencing strategic and operational decisions.


Education
  • B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or related field, or relevant work experience beneficial
  • Advanced degree and/or PMP or other scheduling-related certifications (e.g., PMI-SP) is a plus

Experience
  • Experience with enterprise scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project)
  • Experience in Project Controls, Project Management, Scheduling, or Construction Planning preferred
  • Experience supporting large capital projects or portfolios beneficial
  • Understanding of project dependencies, critical path, resource loading, and risk impacts on schedules
  • Formal supervisory experience with performance management responsibilities is a plus
  • Seven (7) years of utility experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of scheduling principles, project lifecycle, and project delivery methodologies
