Job Title: Project Accountant
12 month contract to hire
5 days onsite in Seattle
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team full-time in Downtown Seattle, WA. This role requires 100% onsite work from Monday through Friday. The Project Accountant will primarily focus on Accounts Payable and some Accounts Receivable, using JD ERP systems. This position involves performing union payroll for 5-15 employees weekly, with potential increases as new projects are initiated.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
  • Assist with the monthly and annual financial close processes, including the preparation of consolidated financial statements.
  • Perform complex reconciliations, including liability account roll forwards and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Prepare and review journal entries and correct accounting posting errors.
  • Work with Textura, Report Now, and Pro-Cor software.
  • Assist management with preparing and analyzing various reporting needs such as Progress Billings, Lean restrictions, and Retention bonds.
  • Review contracts within Pro-Cor systems.

Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 3-5 years of related construction experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong reporting skills using Excel daily with vlookups and pivot tables.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with JD ERP systems preferred, Sage or Timberline acceptable.
  • Familiarity with Textura is a plus.
  • Experience in project accounting, construction accounting, project billing, job costing, and payment processing.
  • Ability to work with contractors and subcontractors in public works projects.

Work Environment
The work environment is a professional office setting located in Downtown Seattle, WA. The role involves assisting in maintaining Accounts Payable and some Accounts Receivable duties, with a focus on contract reviews in Pro-Cor systems. The company offers free parking onsite and a Good to Go pass for work-related tolls. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $43.00/hr.
