Job Description
Responsible to Corporate leadership for Quality (ISO[redacted]), Safety (OSHA compliant) and Training programs. Has the responsibility and authority of: Ensuring processes needed for the quality management system, safety and training are established, implemented and maintained; reporting to Corporate management on the performance of quality, safety and training and any need for improvement; and ensuring the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization. Appointed Management Representative who serves as the liaison to external parties on matters relating to the quality system.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Quality Management. Establishes, manages and monitors standards, processes, communications, training and systems to:
- Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.
- Develop, implement, communicate, and maintain a quality plan to bring Quality Systems and Policies into compliance with quality system requirements.
- Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation.
- Write technical and management systems reports.
- Bring together staff of different disciplines and drives them to plan, formulate and agree on comprehensive quality procedures.
- Persuade reluctant staff to change their way of working to incorporate quality methods.
- Manage and maintain internal audits and contract quality inspections.
- Formulate and manage the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems pertaining to the Quality Control (QC).
- Set QC compliance objectives and ensure targets are achieved.
- Define quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff.
- Set up and maintain controls and documentation procedures.
- Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
- Organize and manage quality control function in close co-operation with customers and with the Company's leadership.
- Identify relevant quality-related training needs and deliver training.
Health and Safety Manager. Establishes, manages, and monitors standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure:
- Existence and awareness of a suitable and relevant health and safety policy.
- A safe workplace without risk to health.
- Safe contract sites and equipment, and safe movement, storage and use of articles and substances.
- Adequate provision of first-aid, and welfare facilities and support.
- Provision of suitable and current information and supervision concerning health and safety policies and practices.
- Proper and timely assessment of risks to health and safety, and implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary from the assessments.
- Provision of emergency procedures, first-aid facilities, safety signs, relevant protective clothing and equipment, and incident reporting to the relevant authorities.
- Liaison as necessary with other organizations and relevant authorities, and assistance and cooperation concerning audits and remedial actions.
- The workplace satisfies health, safety and welfare requirements for ventilation, temperature, lighting, sanitary, washing and rest facilities.
- Prevention and precautions against, or adequate control of, exposure to hazardous substances, and danger from flammable, explosive, electrical, noise, radiation and manual handling risks.
- Surveillance and reporting on health and safety practices and systems.
Training Manager. Establishes, manages, and monitors standards, processes, communications, training and systems to:
- Identify "core competencies" of workforce.
- Identify training and development needs within the company.
- Design and develop training and development programs based on the company's and the employee's needs.
- Ensure statutory training requirements are met.
- Help contract managers and trainers solve specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups.
- Train instructors and supervisors in techniques and skills for training and dealing with employees.
- Evaluate training and development programs.
- Appraise competency of employees periodically.
- Identify quality of workforce as requirements.
- Develop testing and evaluation procedures.
Job Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and/or Experience:- Demonstrated/documented experience in ISO 9000 Quality Management Systems and Internal Auditing.
- Experience in establishing and managing/supervising a safety program in industry.
- Experienced in workforce training and development.
- Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Language Skills: - Read, write, and communicate in English.
Other:- May perform world-wide travel to contract sites.
- May perform other duties as assigned by the COO.
