Working closely with the Programmatic Operations Manager and Head of Digital Optimisation and cross-functional teams, you'll develop dashboards, analyze programmatic revenue, identify opportunities, and provide recommendations that support strategic decision making. You'll become the subject matter expert on programmatic performance, helping stakeholders understand what is happening, why it's happening, and where opportunities exist.

Annual Salary: $90,000-$120,000

Key Responsibilities

Dashboards & Business Intelligence
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable reporting dashboards (e.g., Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI) to track daily programmatic revenue, eCPMs, fill rate, bid density, win rate, and viewability.
  • Write custom queries in BigQuery/SQL to combine ad server log data with partner APIs, improving data quality and automating manual reporting processes.
  • Deliver regular performance reports and ad-hoc quantitative analyses to leadership and cross-functional teams.

Programmatic Yield & Revenue Optimization
  • Analyze large datasets across our supply stack (SSPs, DSPs, header bidding, PMPs) to identify yield bottlenecks, pricing adjustments, and monetization opportunities.
  • Monitor supply-side delivery health metrics to detect fill drops, latency issues, or revenue discrepancies in real time.
  • Partner with Commercial, Product, Sales, and Finance to conduct strategic analyses that inform pricing rules and sales strategies.

Identity, Signals & Addressability
  • Analyse the impact of identity, signal and addressability initiatives on revenue, match rates, bid density, CPM and RPM.
  • Support testing and reporting for partners and initiatives such as Intent IQ, LiveRamp, UID2/EUID, TIDs and other identity-led monetisation opportunities.
  • Help quantify the commercial value of new signals and make recommendations on scaling, pausing or further testing.

Forecasting & Finance Support
  • Support revenue forecasting, partner cost modelling and monthly close processes where required.
  • Work with Programmatic Operations Manager and Head of Digital Optimisation to provide clear analysis on revenue share partners, incremental uplift and cost/revenue performance.
  • Help maintain accurate reporting for budget, forecast and actuals across programmatic channels.

Stakeholder Management & Industry Insight
  • Translate complex programmatic data into clear, actionable insights and present recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Research programmatic market trends, supply path optimization (SPO) dynamics, and emerging ad tech solutions to drive revenue growth.
  • Promote and uphold The Guardian's values and ethical standards in day-to-day decision-making.

About You

  • Proven track record of turning large datasets into actionable yield and revenue strategies
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple analytical projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Alignment with and commitment to The Guardian's mission and values

  2. Familiarity with Prebid.js, header bidding setups, and key IAB Tech Lab standards (OpenRTB, ads.txt, Sellers.json).
