Full Job Description
Position Summary:

Orion Spacecraft Master Production Scheduler (MPS) will create and maintain detailed production schedules for the Orion spacecraft while executing Material Resource Planning (MRP) activities. This role ensures that drawings, work instructions, materials, and resources align with the program's critical milestones and customer commitments. The incumbent will act as a central hub between manufacturing, supply chain, and operations management to drive on-time delivery and mitigate part shortages.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop Orion Spacecraft detailed master production schedules; integrate availability of drawings, work instructions, materials, and resources.
  • Coordinate with Production Operations Management to provide priority direction for the shop floor, deliver timely status updates, and "work around" issues to preserve schedule integrity.
  • Execute Make-Buy Bill of Material (BOM) planning for all MRP transactions, including demand management, supply-and-demand analysis, materials management, and shop-floor control.
  • Performs one or more multiple manufacturing activities within various manufacturing functions.
  • Maintains schedules, production orders and mitigate part shortages.
  • Plans and schedules the movement of raw materials, parts, components, supplies and related materials through receiving inspection resulting in material movement throughout the production cycle.
  • Expedites and optimizes material flow through the supply chain to meet customer requirements.
  • Coordinates with manufacturing and Operations Management to provide priority direction for shop floor, provides timely status and expedites or works around plans to preserve schedule.
  • Coordinates with Supply Chain stakeholders including Procurement, Quality, Shipping & Receiving and Operations management to determine appropriate time phased plan for procured parts and executes processes to ensure deliverables meet production schedule requirements.


Required Skills:
  • Knowledge and experience in Production Operations schedule development and MRP transactions.
  • Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience in production control or 4-6 years of equivalent education/experience.
  • Microsoft Project, Open Plan or other scheduling software experience.
  • SAP or other materials requirement planning (MRP) system experience.
  • Customer service skills and problem resolution skills. Ability to track large amounts of data and provide status.
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good Communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.
