Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with flexibility between working onsite and remotely. The role resides in the Precision Strike & Sensing Solutions (PS) business area. With facilities in Huntsville AL, Hudson, NH, and Cedar Rapids, IA; PS designs and manufactures state-of-the-art systems and technology that enable our customers to execute their precision strike missions.

As the SureStrike™ IRAD and Capital Program Manager, you will be dedicated full-time to leading multiple teams of engineers and functional staff in developing and producing next generation seeker technology. With a heavy focus on tech maturation, this role will be responsible for critical IRAD and capital funding across the next year and a half to support a $500M opportunity pipeline over the next 5 years. Additionally, you will be responsible for influencing and managing strategic capital assets to build up local engineering capabilities to support the IRAD. Continued IRAD investment will be reviewed annually to ensure alignment to and support of the 5 year integrated business plan. The SureStrike™ Program Manager will be an integral part in providing inputs for the portfolio IRAD needs, coordinating closely with engineering leadership as well as capture managers and the overall business leader. This is a strategic leadership position chartered to coordinate cross-product line resources to unlock technological synergies and deliver disruptive technology to the marketplace under the umbrella of SureStrike™ - BAE's affordable mass family of seekers. The work that you do will help our technology stay ahead of the threats to our nation's security. Reporting to the Product Line Director for Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions, you will have the opportunity to exercise your leadership, program management skills, and get exposure to front-end of the business strategy.

The individual selected for this exciting and challenging position will manage, coordinate, plan, organize, control, integrate, and execute the SureStrike™ IRAD. The individual will be responsible for ensuring achievement of financial, schedule, and technical performance objectives. To be successful in this role, an individual must overcome the obstacles of change and have a strong ability to drive IRAD execution in partnership with engineering, as well as review and report on status, while articulating the goals of technology maturation and provide connectivity between the IRAD and related captures. This Program Manager must have an engaging leadership style with the analytical ability to assess current state and gaps to enable project improvements and issue resolution. This person must also have a detailed focus for accurate reporting to enable successful implementation. Critical to alignment with our cultural principles, the individual must also model and demonstrate strong commitment to ethics, safety, and security.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field and 10 years work experience or equivalent experience.
  • Track record of successfully developing and executing strategic and tactical plans, both short and long range, for complex projects
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed, cross-functional project teams, using strong communication and collaboration skills to successfully manage assigned program efforts
  • Ability to understand and communicate with senior management regarding program performance status (cost/ schedule/ resources/ risk)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience producing executive summaries and metrics for progress reporting and to communicate opportunities/focus areas
  • Comfortable working in a high volume, fast-paced, rapidly changing, results-oriented work environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; possesses strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Experience coordinating with multiple teams and leading a common process and providing clear direction within an environment of change and uncertainty


Preferred Skills and Education

  • Master's Degree
  • PMP Certification
  • Understanding of BAE Systems portfolio of products/technologies
  • Demonstrated expertise in program management processes including program scoping and planning, risk and opportunity management, earned value management, etc.
  • Experience in Seeker or Weapons Technology
  • Experience with management of hardware and software technology investments
  • Experience working with Intellectual Property
  • Development program management experience (hardware, software, and systems)
  • Active Secret Clearance
