Posting Description PROGRAM MANAGER, Biological Engineering , to oversee the ARPA-H PLOW (Precision Learning for On-target Weed control) program. The Center's research will develop new artificial intelligence (AI) and high-throughput screening methods for small molecule design, applied to the problem of producing next-generation agrichemicals that are safer, more efficacious, and can be manufactured with domestic resources. The molecules will be produced using a combination of synthetic biology and medicinal chemistry. Program Manager will facilitate the movement of chemical designs to their synthesis, screening, and field testing with partners. In addition, the project will apply synthetic biology to create microbes to degrade agrichemicals in soil. Manage the overall operations of the PLOW program. This position will manage the day-to-day operations and ARPA-H administration, coordinating research and interactions with the funding agency (US Army, Army Science and Technology Enterprise), coordinating across the administrations of participating universities, aiding the development of materials for regulatory approval, and other relevant operational functions. This position will involve the public presentation of material, communication with sponsors and research partners, and the writing of project reports and the management of federal grants.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry,
Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline; and a minimum of four years of administration or operations experience and/or project/program management. PREFERRED : MS or PhD in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. strong evidence of writing and presentation skills, managing a complex multi-institutional
program, and grant writing.
Travel is required.
This is a 100% on-site position.
The appointment is expected to continue through September 17, 2031, consistent with the duration of the project.
