Summary:
The Program Manager, US Capacity Building for Housing Resilience, drives the coordination and execution of capacity-building initiatives that strengthen housing resilience across the US network of Habitat for Humanity (HFHI). This position translates program design into implementation to strengthen affiliates, Affiliate Support Organizations (ASO), and internal capacity across disaster preparedness, hazard mitigation, and recovery.

The work includes coordinating internal and external subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop, test, and deploy training, tools, systems, and partnerships that enable more effective coordination and stronger long-term resilience outcomes.
Working across functions, the role aligns national strategy with local execution by coordinating pilots, advancing network-wide learning, strengthening operational systems, and ensuring progress across key deliverables, timelines, and outcomes, enabling a more consistent, scalable, and sustainable approach to housing resilience across the network.

Key Responsibilities:

Habitat for Humanity International is seeking a passionate, purpose-driven, systems thinker with understanding of affordable housing resilience, capacity building, and cross-functional program implementation to serve as Program Manager, U.S. Capacity Building for Housing Resilience. This role will help strengthen the ability of affiliates, Affiliate Support Organizations (ASOs), and HFHI teams to prepare for, withstand, and recover from disasters by coordinating training, tools, partnerships, pilots, and learning systems across the network. The ideal candidate is a collaborative orchestrator who can translate program design into action, navigate complex stakeholder environments, and help drive scalable, long-term housing resilience outcomes across a diverse network of affiliates.

Essential Duties:

Program Implementation & Delivery (35%)
• Lead day to day implementation of capacity building initiatives that strengthen housing resilience across the network and HFHI.
• Manage program workplans, timelines, deliverables, and reporting across multiple initiatives.
• Coordinate the execution of pilot programs and feedback loops, working with SMEs to design approaches aligned with strategic priorities and network needs.
• Coordinate internal and external SMEs to develop tools, resources, and implementation guidance for HFHI and the network.
• Proactively identify risks, gaps, and opportunities, and adjust implementation approaches accordingly.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Network Capacity Building & Learning (20%)
• Coordinate SMEs to design and deliver training programs, toolkits, templates, and knowledge resources for affiliates and ASOs.
• Coordinate peer learning, mentoring structures, and network engagement opportunities.
• Support adoption of resilience practices across affiliate planning and operations through training, tools, and network engagement.
• Gather feedback and insights to continuously improve program design and delivery.

Cross-Functional Coordination (30%)
• Coordinate alignment and engagement across HFHI departments, the US Habitat network, external partners, and SMEs to support program delivery.
• Facilitate working groups and implementation teams across multiple functions and stakeholders.
• Contribute to strengthening clarity of roles, processes, and collaboration across the network.

Systems, Data & Performance Tracking (15%)
• Track program progress, milestones, and outcomes to prepare reporting and support decision-making.
• Develop and support the use of dashboards, tracking tools, and performance frameworks.
• Coordinate with internal teams and SMEs to ensure data collection, learning, and evaluation processes are in place.
• Monitor implementation progress and provide regular updates to leadership.
• Assist in aligning program implementation with funding requirements and partnership commitments.
• Support funder reporting and grant-related deliverables as needed.

Minimum Requirements

Education
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., urban planning, public administration, nonprofit management, emergency management, construction management, architecture, or a related field), or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Years of Related Experience
• Minimum 5 years managing complex programs or cross-functional initiatives in housing, resilience, construction, nonprofit operations, or community development.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams, priorities, and stakeholders in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Highly Proficient

Preferred Knowledge & Expertise
• Experience working with Habitat for Humanity or similar affiliate-based non-for-profit networks.
• Experience in capacity building, disaster resilience, hazard mitigation, or housing programs.
• Familiarity with resilient construction or community development practices.
• Advanced degree or specialized training in a related field preferred.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.

The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including location, internal equity and the candidate's qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package that varies by country and typically includes vacation leave, sick leave, personal days, health insurance options, retirement plan contributions and life insurance. For work locations in the US, the hiring range for this position is $81,600 to $96,000.

Staff hired on a hybrid basis in the United States near an HFHI office location (Atlanta, Georgia / Washington, DC and Americus, GA), are required to report to the office on Tuesdays.

HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package that varies by country and typically includes vacation leave, sick leave, personal days, health insurance options, retirement plan contributions and life insurance. For work locations in the US, the annual hiring range for this position is:
