Summary

About the Position: Serves as a Program Manager for the New Orleans District (MVN) Program and Project Management Information System (PROMIS/P2) Program, and Supervisor for the Program and Projects Management Division (PPMD) Program Management Office (PMO).

Duties

Help

  • Develops and implements strategic plans, policies, or process improvements supporting organizational goals and mission requirements.
  • Manages and supports enterprise-level program management systems, procedures, or operational initiatives.
  • Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provides recommendations or advisory support to leadership on complex operational or program management issues.
  • Develops metrics, tracking performance indicators, and managing data quality or reporting programs.
  • Analyzes complex information from multiple data sources and preparing reports, briefings, or recommendations for leadership.
  • Conducts assessments, evaluations, or reviews to identify operational issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepares programmatic documentation and presenting findings to management or executive-level review boards.
  • Delivers briefings, presentations, or reports to senior leadership, stakeholders, or management teams.
  • Coordinates with multiple organizations or functional areas to resolve program or project-related issues.
  • Provides technical guidance, policy interpretation, or advisory support on program management matters.
  • Communicates priorities, expectations, and operational guidance to employees, teams, or stakeholders.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Monitor program performance, improving business processes, track data quality metrics, and prepare reports for leadership; AND/OR 2) Evaluate use of automated information systems to ensure compliance with policies, identify program issues, and recommend process improvements; AND/OR 3) Prepare and present program status reports, data analyses, and briefing materials for senior leadership reviews and management boards; AND/OR 4) Oversee programs, scheduling and data management, providing technical guidance and improving office workflow. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

  • Administration and Management
  • Data Management
  • Organizational Performance Analysis


Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).

With regards to time-in-grade validation, if you held a position other than a GS pay plan, be sure your resume includes the pay plan and the salary you earned during the assignment. Without this information, your time-in-grade validation may not be able to be verified and will result in your not meeting the time-grade requirement for this vacancy. Education
