The Program Manager - Technical will support the development and execution of non-standard military systems by integrating technical understanding with strong program-management leadership. This role requires a quick, adaptive thinker who can interface confidently with industry partners and government customers while driving technical solutions in a fast-paced defense environment. The ideal candidate combines solid technical comprehension with the ability to manage cost, schedule, resources, and cross-functional coordination. They excel at resolving complex challenges, shaping efficient workflows, and implementing best practices that enhance program performance and organizational effectiveness.
As a Program Manager - Technical, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:- Develop a team that can design, model, and engineer unique representative structures to replicate military equipment.
- Select and evaluate materials such as coated fabrics, technical textiles, elastomers, polymers, and high-durability composites suitable for military applications.
- Coordinate and align inputs from participating groups and obtain progress updates for consolidation into monthly division level integrated business planning
- Integrate costs and schedule to ensure realistic and achievable budget and resource requirements through direct coordination with program managers and technical leads.
- Prepare decision-quality materials such as executive level briefings and supporting documentation (white papers, fact sheets, status reports, progress reports, and information papers) for senior level reviews and milestone decision meetings.
- Assisting technical leads in change documentation as required to ensure proper resource planning and forecasting.
- Analyze performance data and prepare written and verbal management reports on cost and schedule variances
- Schedule development and maintenance/tracking.
- Program accounting and cost/value tracking.
- Regular and effective communication with leadership and customer base as pertaining to financial, schedule and technical status.
- Lead development of patterning, joining methods, and reinforcement strategies for large-scale systems.
- Produce and refine CAD models, 2D patterns, and manufacturing documentation.
- Assist prototyping, testing, and validation for durability, structural performance, inflation/deflation mechanics, and environmental resilience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineering, industrial design, manufacturing, and testing groups.
Required Qualifications:- U.S. Citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (advanced or current pursuit of advanced degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in product and solutions development environments
- Secret level DoW Clearance
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, patterning tools).
Preferred Qualifications:- PMP Certification
- Well versed in ASME standards and experience working in ISO or AS 9100 accredited quality programs.
