Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Program Manager to join its Protection Systems organization in Phoenix, AZ, where we design, develop, and manufacture critical, life-saving equipment for the U.S. Military and other commercial / international customers. As a Program Manager, you will manage several programs within our aviation protection product area throughout their entire lifecycle.
In this job, you will:
Manage all aspects of the program, including profit, sales, orders, inventory, cash flow and working capital for program.
Monitor and control program cost, schedule, and technical execution using earned value management and other best practices.
Provide program leadership in Program Execution, anticipates and resolves problems, and ensures inter-group cooperation to meet all program obligations and objectives.
Interface with customers on all program issues including cost, schedule, technical, and contractual status.
Lead Risk and Opportunity management activities.
Interface with Supply Chain to execute and control the purchasing/procurement of goods and services.
Develop and lead a program execution plan, including stakeholder analysis, establishing internal/external program plans, marketing strategies, budgets, schedules and resources necessary to achieve program goals.
Lead BAE Systems' Lifecycle Management (LCM) implementation for the program.
Ensure LCM mandates are implemented for the program and ensures program documentation is of acceptable quality and completeness.
Understand the program financial position and leads the program response during Contract Status Reviews.
Serve as a consultant to other programs by participating in LCM reviews as an Assessor or Chairperson.
Actively promote a culture of safety, health, and personal well being for self, employees and the program team.
Maintain a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety and environmental objectives and policies.
Comply with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to ethics, export control, proprietary information, document/record retention, public communication, etc.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study with 6+ years of experience OR equivalent education/experience
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentations, etc.).
Ability to lead matrixed cross functional teams, foster collaboration, and resolve conflicts.
Strong organizational and analytical skills, capturing information, prioritizing tasks, and organizing effectively.
Understanding and appreciation of cost control and project scheduling.
Ability to efficiently and effectively compile data, prepare reports, and presentations.
Experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, and Excel).
Able to multi-task, managing multiple projects concurrently.
Attentiveness to complete accurate work, punctuality to assigned tasks, and ability to work within a team environment.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Finance, or Business.
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Prior career experience in aerospace or defense related industries.
Skilled at creating, executing, and monitoring projects using Microsoft Project or similar applications.
Experience providing support to project/program planning, execution, operations, and business development activities.
Experience in compiling materials for project management reviews (contract status reviews, phase reviews, integrated business plan inputs, etc.).
Experience interfacing directly with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Knowledge of Earned Value Management systems.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $107359 - $182510
