Full Job Description

The Role

Each Program Manager of Operations is responsible for establishing a structured framework and applying operational rigor to each product domain/subdomain they’re assigned to. As a highly organized and execution-driven contributor, you will partner with cross-functional leaders (from Product, Design, Engineering/TPMs, Data Science & Engineering, etc.) to implement & improve annual planning, quarterly planning, OKR & project tracking, communication, and collaboration. When needed you will serve as an end-to-end Program Manager for high-priority initiatives that require dedicated support.

This job description outlines the initial focus areas for the role, but given the dynamic nature of Netflix and our work, the full scope of the role may evolve as needs from CBP leadership change. As operating models become more established in domains/subdomains, CBP Operations maintains structures that work well within each domain and takes on tactical support for large strategic initiatives.

Who You Are & What You’ll Be Doing

  • You are an observer & a doer. You exhibit a strong sense of responsibility and take pride in ownership of driving successful operational practices.

  • You are flexible. You thrive in a dynamic environment and can work with a high degree of autonomy. You will encounter instances in which the next steps are unclear, but you’ll have stunning colleagues to collaborate with and help uncover the best path to take.

  • You are tech forward. We’re experiencing a major change in the workplace with the adoption of AI-powered tools and workflows. You will be expected to contribute to this journey by expressing curiosity, leaning in, and experimenting with new ways to connect our data and work using this new tech.

  • You are a liaison & a great communicator. You strive to increase visibility and be a resource for ‘source of truth’ information, to reduce the cognitive load for your product teams. You involve the right people at the right times.

  • You are passionate about improving operations. Our CBP Operations team is a strategic execution partner in creating and maintaining operating models that enable our product teams to be more efficient

Key Responsibilities

Our goal as a team is to create structure for CBP domains & subdomains to operate with more rigor, to amplify their successes, and to alleviate operational work. To achieve this, each CBP Operations Program Manager will:

  • Aid Product Directors & Managers with tactical programming related to department & domain-level work:

    • Help organize & support annual planning (e.g. create and/or maintain processes, socialize templates, ensure target deadlines are being met) so they can focus on brainstorming, discovery, measurement, and resource allocation.

    • Aid with programming for on/offsites.

  • Provide tactical support to track objectives (business goals) inclusive of initiatives and projects. You will manage the tracking of OKRs (Priorities), helping teams drive progress by ensuring objectives are top of mind; this information will be used for consistent QBR reporting and leadership check-ins.

  • Centralize information and increase visibility for product teams and stakeholders.

    • Maintain documentation and systems used by the product team(s); we’ll first focus on the global aspects of annual planning, ensuring OKRs ladder up to that process, then follow by assisting with quarterly planning.

    • Socialize CBP work via newsletters, media & appropriate forums.

  • Use AI tools to improve workflows and efficiency. Support change management by helping teams adopt and effectively use these new tools.

  • Work closely with counterpart teams such as CBP Engineering Technical Program Management and CBP administrative assistants. Positive partnerships with these teams is essential for the collective success of the department. We collaborate with them by sharing important information, co-authoring documentation, co-programming events, and building & maintaining systems for visibility and tracking purposes.

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • 4+ years of applicable program management experience in a Product organization.

  • Proven track record of improving operating models that stretch across multiple business functions.

  • Communication skills to clearly articulate and evangelize concepts across a wide organization.

  • Comfort using a variety of project management and product development tools.

  • Experience in stakeholder relationship management.
