Job Description

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Program Manager to provide leadership for our Minotaur Mission Processor software development team.

This position will support a mission management tool called the Minotaur Mission Processor. Minotaur ingests data from various sensors on manned and unmanned surveillance aircraft to enhance an operator's ability to identify tracks from various on-board sensors, from both sea and land, that is utilized in all branches of the military. Responsibilities would include developing strategies and managing elements of the program to unaddressed, critical military operational shortfalls through research, conceptualization, design, implementation, and evaluation as a member of an established team that has fielded numerous highly regarded capabilities. Subject areas differ widely over time, but current projects focus on improving the exploitation of airborne sensor data through object tracking, multi-sensor correlation, and operational data display.

You will operate primarily remote and will be expected to travel monthly to visit team leadership and customer sites.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Responsible for the profit and loss (P and L) of a complex program(s). Responsible for providing program management oversight to a single customer requiring coordination of program requirements across planning stages with several subcontractors. Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Program may be based out of a single location utilizing established technologies requiring standard application to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Develops new business or expands services with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Experience leading projects that include software engineering design, test and evaluation.
  • Experience planning, as well as execution and financial management of the project/program.
  • Experience interfacing directly with both technical and contractual customers to provide status updates and negotiate change orders.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. level Secret Clearance.

Preferred Requirements

  • Working knowledge of the Minotaur Mission Processor
  • Experience and working knowledge of the Navy & Navy Special Warfare communities
  • Significant experience in managing profit and loss (P & L) of a project or program
  • An active U.S. level Secret Clearance or higher

Physical Requirements

May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
