Job Description
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with the majority of time spent on site with opportunity for flexibility during the week to work remote.
Join a dynamic team that provides mission critical electronic warfare solutions across a vibrant, growing portfolio of opportunities in BAE Systems Electronic Systems (ES) Sector, part of one of the leading aerospace and defense companies.
BAE's Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) business area has an exciting opportunity for a Program Manager I to join the team in the Advanced Electronic Warfare Solutions (AEWS) product line. The Product Line is well positioned for growth in the coming years and is looking for a dynamic individual to join us.
We are seeking a Program Manager with demonstrated experience operating within a FAR Part 12 commercial acquisition environment and the ability to support the development and scaling of product-based capabilities. The ideal candidate understands the shift from cost-based execution to product-based delivery, including the implications to pricing, program structure, and customer engagement.
This role requires an individual who can operate within and help mature a product-driven environment, where offerings are defined, priced, and delivered as repeatable products rather than one-off program solutions. This role will work closely with a team of Subject Matter Experts and program execution teams as a Product-Based Organization is established, aligning to commercially aligned product strategies. While this role is not a traditional program execution position it will require both strong program execution discipline and the ability to operate effectively in evolving organization structures.
This is a transition-critical role. Candidates must be comfortable operating without fully mature processes and must be capable of bringing structure, discipline, and consistency to a developing product environment.
This role may also lead efforts throughout the program life-cycle, including, but not limited to, new business capture, engineering and manufacturing development (EMD), as well as follow on low rate initial production (LRIP). This role will be based in downtown Nashua, NH, with the potential for hybrid remote work when on-site presence is not required.
Responsibilities:
Knowledge of transitioning programs/products from design to production
Operate within a FAR Part 12 environment, applying commercial acquisition principles including market-based pricing and price reasonableness
Partner with product management, engineering, finance, and contracts to ensure alignment between product definition, pricing, and program execution
Provide leadership and proactive project management for assigned program activities, ensuring product and program commitments are met, including achievement of financial, schedule, technical, and new business performance objectives.
Drive the transition from program-centric to product-centric execution by reinforcing standard configurations, reducing customization, and driving repeatability
Support the development and refinement of product structures, including configurations, options, and scalable offerings
Drive discipline in separating product scope from program-specific customization
Support proposal efforts by ensuring alignment to established product pricing and preventing reversion to cost-based estimates
Contribute to the establishment of processes, governance, and operating rhythms required to scale a product-based organization
Assist with managing customer and supplier relationships to maintain a win-win of program execution and future business and maintain a high level of customer engagement and satisfaction.
Participate in the support of new business and in the development of financial plans for the company as needed.
Measure and regularly report out on program results, including to senior leadership.
Lead through inspiration and encouragement and foster a culture of innovative problem solving, performance excellence, and continuous improvement to deliver affordable, effective, and dependable outcomes.
Demonstrate a leading role in promoting adherence to the company's ethical standards and business practices; ensure compliance with the BAE Systems Operational Assurance Framework and all other policies and requirements; provide for good stewardship of the assets of the business.
Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety and security objectives and policies
