Title: Program Manager - Center for Smart Building Technology

Unit: Full-Time/Non-Unit (Grant Funded - 2 Years, Renewable with Additional Funding)

Department: Center for Smart Building Technology (C4SBT)

Reports To: Director, Center for Smart Building Technology

Date: May 2026

Position Summary

The Program Manager oversees assigned programs within the Center for Smart Building Technology. The Program Manager ensures programs are implemented effectively and in alignment with institutional policies, industry standards, and applicable program or funding requirements. The Program Manager supports efforts to maintain and strengthen program quality, including assisting with the development and improvement of program offerings and promoting new and existing programs to prospective students. The Program Manager also contributes to continuous improvement efforts to ensure services are efficient, effective, high-quality, and student-centered. In addition, the Program Manager supports the Center's partnership and outreach activities by representing the Center at community, industry, and business events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of assigned workforce training programs, ensuring effective program delivery and alignment with institutional policies, industry standards, and program requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry certification and credentialing standards, as well as program and grant requirements.
  • Assist with the recruitment, interviewing, and recommendation of qualified instructors.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for student inquiries and provide timely and professional responses to telephone, email, and in-person requests.
  • Support student recruitment, application review, and enrollment processes, including assisting in determining student eligibility and readiness for program participation.
  • Monitor student attendance, participation, and progress toward course objectives and industry-recognized credential attainment and provide referrals to appropriate student support services when needed.
  • Collect, track, and analyze program data to monitor student outcomes and support program evaluation, grant reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and support continuous improvement efforts in collaboration with instructors and staff.
  • Collaborate with staff to strengthen program quality and expand training opportunities aligned with workforce and industry needs.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with employers, community-based organizations, and industry stakeholders to support program awareness, student opportunities, and internship, externship, or employment pathways.
  • Participate in student recruitment and registration activities, including Open Registration and other enrollment events.
  • Support outreach and marketing efforts in coordination with the College's marketing department, including assisting with promotional materials, website updates, and program communications.
  • Conduct presentations and participate in community, industry, and college events to promote program offerings and recruit prospective students.
  • Maintain accurate program records in accordance with Roxbury Community College policies, procedures, and grant documentation requirements.
  • Maintain program materials and supply inventory, coordinating orders as needed to support program operations.
  • Conduct periodic classroom and lab walkthroughs to ensure learning environments are safe, organized, and properly equipped.
  • Participate in college meetings and committees as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Schedule
  • Flexible schedule includes occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Must work assigned schedule reliably and punctually.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Experience in clean energy, building systems, workforce development, or technical training programs.
  • Experience working in a community college or urban education setting.
  • Experience with online or hybrid learning environments.
  • Bilingual ability preferred (Spanish, Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean Creole, French, or Portuguese).
  • Valid driver's license.

Additional Requirements
  • Candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of SORI and CORI background checks.
