Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Supplier Management Team efforts among various engineering and management disciplines.
  • Monitor supplier technical performance baselines and execute corrective actions as needed.
  • Perform Earned Value management of material control accounts.
  • Oversee all phases of supplier performance management from planning through sustainment.
  • Review supplier documentation for technical evaluations and acceptance procedures.
  • Report supplier status regularly to Program Managers and management teams.
  • Manage supplier requests for deviations and ensure compliance with documentation requirements.

Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Program Manager 2, Supplier Management Team Lead to join our team in Melbourne, Florida.

The Supplier Management Team (SMT) Lead reports to the Mission Management Portfolio Lead. The candidate should have experience managing suppliers who provide hardware and software solutions and will independently evaluate the programmatic and technical trade space. The candidate will lead requirements analysis, technical trade studies, manage risks, recommending down-selections, and participate in Supplier Management Team overseeing vendor selection, procurement, and vendor oversight. Strong project management and cross project coordination skills are required.

The SMT Lead will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the efforts of the SMT, including engineers, the subcontracts administrator, supplier quality assurance representatives, logistics engineers, schedule planner, and cost/material planner
  • Supports and monitors technical performance baselines, compares key subcontract technical performance measures, assesses execution status, and takes appropriate action to maintain conformance with the baseline
  • Earned value (EV) management of material control accounts
  • Coordinating and managing the execution of all phases of supplier performance, including planning, proposals, new capability development, production, testing, deliveries, and sustainment
  • Conducting or coordinating review of supplier documentation (e.g., technical evaluations of proposals, acceptance test procedures, cost and schedule reports, software version description documents)
  • Reporting supplier status to Program Managers, GSC managers, and IPT Management
  • The selected candidate should thrive working in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, engaged in significantly diverse assignments, within a collaborative team setting across all levels of the organization
  • Manage supplier requests for waivers, deviations, and discrepancy reporting process
  • Verify that End Item Data Packages (EIDPs) and Subcontractor Data Requirements List (SDRLs) items are reviewed and dispositioned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years (or Bachelor of Science in STEM and 9 years) of related experience as defined below, OR a Master’s degree and 8 years (or Master of Science in STEM and 7 years) of related experience as defined below 
  • Related experience includes a background in project management, program management, engineering, capture efforts, and/or business management
  • Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate engineering teams, providing guidance and support to achieve project goals
  • Demonstrated experience with Systems Development Lifecycle
  • Demonstrated experience defining systems behavior
  • Experience in development and maintenance of an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
  • Familiarity with EVMS with experience managing budget and schedule as a Cost Account Manager (CAM)
  • Risk and Opportunity Management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing suppliers as part of a government/DOD contract
  • Experience with T&M, CPIF, FFP contract types
  • Requirements development/flow down
  • Technical evaluations of proposals
  • CAM/EV Certification
  • Repair management, DMSMS evaluations, MRP requirements
  • Experience in supplier statement of work generation

Primary Level Salary Range: $139,100.00 - $208,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
