Program Director, Consumer Health

Labcorp is seeking a Program Director, Consumer Health, to join our team in Burlington, NC or Durham, NC with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule!

Responsibilities:
Strategic Deal and Program Leadership
  • Lead end-to-end program management for priority Consumer Health opportunities, from active deal development through customer confirmation and onboarding.
  • Translate commercial objectives into integrated workplans with clear milestones, deliverables, dependencies, decision points, and accountable owners.
  • Establish governance, operating rhythms, and executive reporting appropriate to the size and complexity of each opportunity.
  • Maintain momentum across concurrent workstreams and intervene early when execution challenges could affect timing or customer commitments.
  • Provide program management guidance directly to VP-level and above on complex Consumer Health business issues.
  • Work with significant autonomy under limited supervision.
  • Lead Consumer Health corporate development and M&A project activity, including diligence support and post-close integration planning.


Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Serve as the primary internal program lead for assigned Consumer Health opportunities.
  • Navigate the organization to engage the appropriate stakeholders and subject matter experts across Commercial, Operations, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Information Technology, Marketing, Managed Care, Corporate Development, and other functions as needed.
  • Clarify roles, responsibilities, handoffs, and decision rights across workstreams.
  • Facilitate working sessions, document decisions, drive closure of unresolved issues, and escalate matters with clear options and implications.
  • Lead engagements external to Labcorp with partners, health systems, and other large customers, including direct engagement with C-suite executives in customer offices.

Customer Confirmation and Onboarding
  • Partner with commercial leaders and customer-facing teams to convert customer commitments into coordinated implementation plans.
  • Lead internal readiness activities required to confirm and onboard new customers.
  • Serve as the customer-facing Labcorp lead from close through onboarding and early-life support, owning issue resolution and escalation on the customer's behalf.
  • Coordinate alignment of business requirements, operational capabilities, contractual commitments, technology needs, financial considerations, and customer expectations before implementation.
  • Coordinate handoffs from business development to implementation and ongoing account ownership, remaining the customer-facing owner until that transfer is complete, and resolve issues that could affect launch timing, service delivery, or the customer experience.
  • Transfer ongoing account ownership to the Executive Director, Consumer Health Partnerships, at the completion of onboarding, and support that role on subsequent escalations affecting service delivery or the customer experience.

Risk, Issue, and Decision Management
  • Maintain visibility to program risks, issues, assumptions, decisions, and interdependencies.
  • Assess potential impacts to customer commitments, financial outcomes, operations, compliance, resources, and timing.
  • Develop practical mitigation plans with accountable functional leaders.
  • Prepare concise executive updates highlighting progress, decisions required, tradeoffs, and areas needing leadership support.

Process Improvement, Data, and Technology
  • Identify recurring barriers and opportunities to improve Consumer Health deal execution and customer onboarding.
  • Develop repeatable playbooks, templates, governance standards, and performance measures, while avoiding unnecessary administrative burden.
  • Use data, automation, and AI-enabled tools appropriately to improve planning, reporting, risk identification, decision support, and stakeholder communication.
  • Capture lessons learned and strengthen visibility into the portfolio of active deals and onboarding programs.

Market Intelligence and Competitive Insight
  • Conduct ongoing market scans and structured research on how the consumer health and direct-to-consumer diagnostics market is evolving, including partner, channel, and technology developments.
  • Track competitor activity, new entrants, and emerging commercial models, and translate findings into implications for Consumer Health strategy and active opportunities.
  • Deliver regular executive-level presentations on market trends, market evolution, and competitor activity to VP-level and above audiences.

  • 3 or more years of Smartsheet or comparable multi-project portfolio tooling experience.

About the Role

The Consumer Health Program Director will lead cross-functional execution of strategic customer opportunities from active deal development through customer confirmation and onboarding. Serving as a central point of coordination, the role will help internal teams and customers navigate Labcorp, resolve barriers, clarify ownership, and maintain momentum across complex commercial opportunities. Once the business development process closes, the role becomes the direct interface to customer counterparts through confirmation, onboarding, and early-life support.

This role requires strong program leadership, commercial judgment, organizational agility, and the ability to influence across a highly matrixed environment. The Program Director will do more than track activity. The individual will drive decisions, surface risks, resolve dependencies, and help ensure that internal commitments translate into a coordinated customer experience. The role operates with significant autonomy and provides program leadership directly to VP-level and above.

Applicants will follow a hybrid schedule that includes a minimum of three in-office days per week at the Burlington, NC or Durham, NC location, supporting both collaboration and flexibility.
