Washington County Disability, Aging, and Veteran Services (DAVS) within Health and Human Services Department is seeking a highly skilled and service-oriented
Senior Program Coordinator to join the
Veteran Services Team. The Senior Program Coordinator will join a collaborative and mission-driven team committed to serving the community and a wide array of stakeholders.
The Senior Program Coordinator coordinates, oversees, evaluates, and administers the Veteran Services Program within DAVS. This position oversees a dedicated team of Veteran Services Officers who support veterans and their families with excellence, humility, and compassion.
Key responsibilities include providing operational support for DAVS, managing grants and contracts, overseeing the veteran services program budget, conducting public outreach and presentations, and contributing to strategic planning efforts. The role requires a trauma-informed, strength-based leadership approach and a commitment to high-quality service for the veteran community.
Ideal Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):Prior military experience or direct experience working with veteran populations and their families.
Knowledge of:- Problems and issues confronting veterans and people with disabilities in the community.
- State and federal laws related to veterans' benefits.
- Trauma-informed care principles, especially relating to post traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, military sexual trauma, and readjustment challenges.
- Community-focused approaches related to military service, including understanding military structure and norms.
Ability to:- Manage contracts, grants, memorandums of understanding, or other partner relationships.
- Engage communities to advance the mission of the organization and advocate for those served.

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience:- Bachelor's degree in social work, social sciences, public administration, political science, business administration, or a related field; AND six (6) years of increasingly responsible professional experience, including program administration of services for veterans, people with disabilities, or other community-based populations.
Additional Requirements- Ability to become an Accredited Veteran Service Officer within one year of hire.
- Successful completion of background checks post offer.
