Job DescriptionJob Description:Project finance plans, controls, and reports program performance relating to cost and schedule according to the Earned Value Management System. This role provides financial decision support to stakeholders focused on minimizing risk and maximizing return of program profit by managing financial requirements and program execution. Project finance is a well-rounded role that introduces an employee to the various facets of BAE Systems finance.
This role will be performed in
hybrid remote format, with the individual splitting their time between one of our offices within the Southern New Hampshire region, and remotely, from an alternate work place. Depending on the assigned business area, this individual could sit in any of the following BAE Systems offices in New Hampshire:
Nashua, Merrimack, Hudson, or Manchester.
Interview Timeline Expectation:As this is a longer-form interview process, given that the team is interviewing a large number of candidates for potentially several different openings, we would like to offer an outline of our interview timeline to allow applicants to set expectations and plan accordingly.
Our approximate timeline, dependent on the volume of candidate response, is estimated to be as follows:
- 6/18 (posting date) through 7/10: application review and phone screens by hiring team (hiring team members to contact candidates directly for initial screenings)
- 7/13 to 7/24: virtual panel interviews for advancing applicants, via MS Teams
- 7/24 to 8/14: job offers relayed to chosen applicants
Again, this is an approximate timeline, subject to change based on certain variables, but this will be our intended schedule.
Responsibilities include:- Perform analyses and prepare reports to ensure contracts are within negotiated parameters and government cost control guidelines
- Prepare program plans to ensure program requirements and statement of work are captured and scheduled
- Utilizing strong communication skills to interface with a cross functional program team, including Project Managers, Contracts, Operations, Engineering, Operations, and Master Planning
- Support interactions with external customers and subcontractors as required
- Utilizing both BAE Systems and defense industry finance tools to perform predictive financial analysis in order to determine plausibility of meeting program objectives
- Creating, maintaining, and monitoring program baselines utilizing earned value management
- Assisting in program risk and opportunity management
- Developing and updating financial forecast and estimates at completion
- Supporting weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting requirements, internal and external proposal support through pricing basis of estimates, compiling cost volumes, and preparing request for bid approvals (RBA)
- Partnering with Pricing organization to support new business proposals as required
Required Skills and Education- Bachelor's degree and 4 years of work experience or equivalent experience; alternatively, a master's degree and 2 years of work experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, in particular Excel
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
- Demonstrated problem solving and in-depth analytical skills
- Ability to make decisions with sound judgment while complying with policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and present financial data to other functions in an accurate, concise, and understandable manner
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and self-manage a multi-tasked workload in a fast-paced environment with ability to meet time sensitive deadlines
Preferred Skills and Education- Experience with project forecasting and analysis, including program costs, revenue recognition, profit, cash, and collections
- Knowledgeable in EVMS, both procedures and systems
- Experience with Oracle, Hyperion, ProPricer, and Cobra
- Experience in program finance and/or other finance functional disciplines
- Understanding and knowledge industry practices and standards as well as company policies
- Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment
