Summary

Duties

Help

  • You will lead and manage systems engineering and product development activities for Configuration Management (CM).
  • You will administer the CM and Quality Assurance (QA) program for Convential Prompt Strike (CPS) and provides guidance for the
    development, implementation, and adherence of Configuration Management Plan (CMP) and Quality requirements.
  • You will oversee the management of configuration items, documentation, and processes throughout the CPS Weapon System
    life-cycle.
  • You will manage the CM and Configuration Control Board (CCB) processes and conducts government CCB meetings on behalf of
    CCB Chair.
  • You will assure weapon system development activities adhere to best practices and technical requirements documents.
  • You will represent SSP/CPS in assigned areas of responsibility when interfacing with field activities, fleet representatives,
    contractors, and consultants to resolve complex and/or controversial issues.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Functional Area and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.


Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Utilizing configuration management (CM) tools, methods, or techniques for design decisions regarding sustainment or operation of a weapon system; and/or Analyzing quality standards to support implementation of Configuration Management (CM) and Quality Assurance (QA) strategies for weapon system program.

This announcement uses the Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) Business Management & Technical Management direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-3 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 and GS-13.

Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.

A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

Several vacancies may be filled.

A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
