Full Job Description
Weyerhaeuser is currently seeking a Production Supervisor to join our mill in Plymouth, NC. As a Production Supervisor, you will role model Weyerhaeuser's core values of safety, integrity, citizenship, sustainability, and inclusion by working with other leaders and your team to create a positive environment with open, honest communication among associates. A large part of success in this role involves tactical and operational planning, direction-setting, and leadership to meet and exceed Plymouth's operational goals through quality work execution, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Production Supervisors are committed to, and accountable for, the team's success through active participation in a collaborative team environment. They will also provide the day-to-day leadership and direction to support the achievement of department, team, and individual job goals.

Key Functions:
  • Lead the team by proactively resolving employee issues, building teamwork, and ensuring adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner
  • Role model all safe work practices, standards/processes and on-the-job behavior by promoting and exhibiting our safety culture, supporting our Company Vision and People Principles
  • Hold team members accountable for expectations and department goals
  • Drive performance by building and maintaining positive relationships through coaching, developing, and instilling a continuous improvement mindset
  • Achieve and sustain business goals in a complex and fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Understand the process flow and provide solutions to issues
  • Develop and lead team meetings and trainings and identify safety, quality, and production issues
  • Manage work schedules, attendance, vacations/leave, job qualifications, and awards
  • Build a winning team, assign areas of accountability, communicate the score, and coach for optimal performance
  • Participate in and/or lead department initiatives
  • Own and/or contribute to other mill functions, such as safety, environmental, or LEAN initiatives
  • Participate in incident investigations and follow-up activities


Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • Work related experience in leading and ensuring compliance with safety initiatives
  • At least three (3) years of leadership experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills
  • Strong planning, organizational skills, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Solid team-building capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other Windows-based programs
  • Strong work ethic
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Proven ability to improve performance by building and maintaining positive relationships with all associates through coaching, development and instilling a continuous improvement mind-set
  • Willing to work any shift which may include rotating, weekends and holidays should business needs require
  • Ability to maintain production floor presence for the majority of production time
  • Ability to learn and comprehend entire manufacturing process
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in related field
  • Work related experience in a production and/or manufacturing environment
  • Lumber or Wood products experience
  • Experience with LEAN processes
  • Experience with SAP and ActivPlant
What We Offer:

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $69,300-$104,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
