The RoleProduction Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARYThe Production Supervisor will provide leadership and direction to a crew of production employees to achieve site goals including safety, performance, continuous improvement, and team development. This role is responsible for developing and enhancing skill sets of current employees across multiple aspects of the production process through robust training and coaching opportunities.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Ensures all GFSI, ISO, cGMP, HACCP, Food Safety, Food Defense, Prerequisite programs, and operating procedures are in place, trained, and in compliance
- Participate in plant safety activities including, but not limited to, completing safety audits, toolbox talks, and coaching session
- Coordinate and supervise the batching and processing areas of the plant and ensure adherence to quality specifications (in-process and finished product)
- Coordinate the receiving and material-handling personnel and departments parallel to the Traffic and Inventory
- Management leads Manage and communicate scrapped material inventory for recycling and/or sale
- This role ensures safe processes and work conditions through activity management in Safety, Health and Environment (SHE)
- Establish and adjust procedures to meet production schedules, efficiencies, and budget objectives
- Verify accuracy and quality of daily production and explore ways of streamlining production processes and reducing waste
- Direct daily setup process for production line and filling areas Responsible for training, coaching, and evaluating performance of assigned staff to maximize employee engagement and desired outcomes
- Ensures plant compliance with all company, local, state, and federal standards for safety and environmental requirements
- Communicate all changes to Production Manuals and procedures to meet SQF standards
- Take an active involvement in all Company quality or continuous improvement initiatives through regular root cause identification and participation on improvement teams (e.g. ISO audits)
- Encourage and facilitate the involvement of the hourly workforce. Assist the SSHE manager for any necessary quarterly or annual training that must occur.

Education & Experience:Education: Bachelor of Science in Business, Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or related field of study. 3+ years of experience in a similar working environment.
Experience: Experience in Foods Manufacturing, Union Environment
Knowledge, Skills, & Talents- Possess a HACCP certification
- Understanding of SQF (Safe Quality Foods) fundamentals
- Knowledge of food processing sanitation
- Knowledge of food safety requirements
- Knowledge of shipping/receiving processes
- Skill in using a personal computer and a variety of software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to provide clear direction and supervise staff
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to be a positive representative of the Company
Working Conditions - Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lb
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
- Position based in Pittsburgh, PA
- Full time position working 5 days per week

PayThe estimated base pay range for this position is: $70,000 - $100,000 annually. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, qualifications, skills and geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in a short-term incentive program.
