Job Title: Production Supervisor - Second Shift

Job Overview

The Production Cell Supervisor supervises and provides leadership to multiple Cell Leads to ensure production remains on schedule by monitoring and prioritizing work orders so that customer requirements are met.

Second Shift: 2pm-11pm | Grayslake, IL plant

Job Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Review the daily Production Order List Report and assign production orders to work cells. Prioritize work orders based on due dates, daily Hot List, customer orders, stock orders.
  • Supervise, develop, guide and train team members in the proper operation of equipment and manufacturing processes and ensure that tasks are assigned based on individual capabilities.
  • Schedule continuous production orders and stage components for multiple work orders daily.
  • Work with Cell Leads to expedite and coordinate products for immediate shipment or inventory.
  • Ensure production orders within Cells are set up and manufactured in accordance with route /TAKT times, assuring that deviation from BOM's or Routes do not occur without engineering approvals.
  • Maintain quality of products produced within work cells. Review the first piece inspection for finished products with Cell Leads to verify that they are made to the engineering drawing and sign off on finished goods.
  • Close work orders.
  • Maintain scrap reporting and other tools to work toward improving product quality, internal and external.
  • Implement Lean methodologies for all work cells supervised such as TAKT time, 5-S, PM, SQDC metrics maintained.


What your background should look like

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to five years' supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and understand documents written in English, including blueprints, drawings, SOPs.
  • CNC machining experience and working knowledge of mechanical assembly and fabrication preferred.
  • Experience in managing in a Lean environment and continuous improvement methods.
  • Proven experience working with ERP systems (Business Central, SAP)
  • Intermediate Excell skills preferred
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience with various types of equipment such as Micrometers, Calipers, air and power tools, rulers, tape measures and gages

Physical Requirements:
  • Continuous standing, moving and reaching with arms and hands.
  • Frequently walks, bends, lifts and carries items.
  • Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 30 lbs. May move up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:
  • Work is performed in an office and shop environment.
  • Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, and odors.

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $76,400 - $95,400 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
