Manufacturing Supervisor - Job Description
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating daily production activities on the production floor to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery. This role oversees a team of production associates, provides hands-on support, resolves issues in real time, and drives continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
• Supervise, coach, and develop a team of production employees across assigned shifts.
• Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to standard work.
• Conduct shift start-ups, team meetings, and communicate goals and expectations.
• Address performance issues, attendance, and behavioral concerns promptly and professionally.
Production & Workflow Management
• Ensure production schedules are met by managing labor, materials, and equipment effectively.
• Monitor line performance, identify bottlenecks, and take corrective action to maintain throughput.
• Coordinate with buyers, engineering, and maintenance to resolve production issues.
• Maintain accurate production reporting, downtime tracking, and shift documentation.
Safety & Compliance
• Enforce all safety policies, PPE requirements, and OSHA standards.
• Conduct safety audits, hazard identification, and incident investigations.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
Quality Assurance
• Ensure products meet quality specifications and standards.
• Partner with Quality teams to address defects, rework, and process deviations.
• Train employees on quality procedures and standard work instructions.
Continuous Improvement
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance workflow.
• Support Lean, 5S, and Kaizen initiatives.
• Recommend process changes and assist with implementation.
Administrative & Operational Duties
• Approve timecards, manage schedules, and coordinate overtime needs.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of new employees.
• Maintain inventory accuracy for materials used on the line.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained and escalate issues to Maintenance.
Qualifications
Required
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or production environment.
• 1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong understanding of safety, quality, and production processes.
• Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with basic computer systems (Microsoft Office, ERP systems).
Preferred
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Background in CNC programming, machining, metal fabrication or machine shop operations.
Work Environment
• Manufacturing/assembly floor environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and moving equipment.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and work overtime or weekends as needed.

Pay Range
The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 73100.00-135700.00
