  • Attend and supervise external partner studio meetings and kickoffs
  • Liaise with external partners to set up file transfer protocols and reviews

Full Job Description
Job Summary:

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to support one of our Unannounced CG animated feature films. Reporting to the Producer and Production Manager, the Production Supervisor keeps their department on schedule and on budget. Our ideal candidate schedules, tracks, and communicates with efficiency and ease. With the crew’s work and wellbeing at top of mind, this role will support teams of artists through production deliverables. 

What You’ll do:

  • Create and update workflow documents for your department

  • Working with the Production Manager, create schedules and tools to be used by production staff and external partners to tracking all aspects of departmental deliverables; manage the department’s day-to-day needs and resources

  • Be the main source of information for in house artists, have regular check-ins with artists (virtually and in-person), and get to know the crew well

  • Oversee department reviews with show leadership; set meeting expectations and agenda; ensure reviews and approvals happen within the scheduled time

  • Supervise deliveries of review materials to key stakeholders for notes

  • Ensure department fits within approved parameters and elevate potential problems or delays to the Production Manager or Line Producer along with ideas on how to course correct

  • Generate daily and/or weekly department status reports for the Production Manager and Line Producer; 

  • Analyze reports to ensure department is on schedule, planned productivity is being achieved, forecast OT needs, and identify vulnerabilities

  • Supervise shot and sequence breakdowns 

  • Work with Production Manager and technical team members to set up ShotGrid for your film, troubleshoot and solve workflow challenges, and refine and improve processes

  • Supervise and train Production Coordinators and Production Assistants in your department including but not limited to the preparation and execution of delivering Creative Partner packages

  • Supervise the inventory flow in and out of your department

  • Collaborate with Department Head to cast assignments and issue deadline 

  • Supervise the setup and attend external partner studio kickoffs and other applicable meetings related to your department

  • Liaise with external partner studios and their technical leads in the setting up of protocol for file transfers and reviews

  • Supervise the organization and maintenance of systems for monitoring production progress which includes tracking actual vs scheduled dates for all aspects of your department

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

What You’ll Need:

  • 2+ years experience as a Production Supervisor on a CG feature films or related experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of asset and shot tracking systems, preferably ShotGrid

  • Experienced in Google Suite (preferred) and/or Microsoft Office 

  • Knowledge of Final Draft, StoryboardPro, Photoshop, and Maya a plus 

  • Experience working with vendor studios a plus

  • Strong attention to detail is critical

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Must have the ability to lead with a positive attitude and encourage collaboration

  • Comfort level working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with the ability to manage time and balance priorities

  • A self-starter with the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team

Location: This role is based onsite out of the Burbank office. In-office Preferred.

At NAS, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors to determine your compensation. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, location, skills, and experience.   The overall market range for this role is typically $104,000-107,000k.  This reflects total compensation; we do not have bonuses.  

This job may be covered by a collective bargaining agreement.  If so, pay for the position is governed by the currently effective applicable collective bargaining agreement and thus will be no less than $2000/week and up to any better conditions and terms negotiated and obtained as expressly provided therein.
