  • Supervise production operations to ensure efficient labor usage and minimal variances.

  • Implement training and cross-training programs for production staff effectively.
  • Meet daily production schedules to ensure on-time delivery and minimize overtime.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications and are defect-free.
  • Assist with the movement of raw materials, equipment, and finished products as needed.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing principles to identify and address efficiency issues.
  • Prepare and submit performance reports to the direct manager.
  • Facilitate daily shift meetings to communicate job expectations and provide employee support.
  • Engage in hands-on tasks alongside direct reports to achieve daily production goals.

Description

Primary Role: Ensure the successful production activities of a single shift. Manage the daily production related KPI's for singular shift. Support a strong employee culture through the reinforcement of Latham's Core Values

Typical work hours include Day shift operation, Monday through Friday. OT as per business needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Follow company safety policies and programs to promote a safety-first culture throughout the facility
  2. Supervise operations to ensure positive labor efficiency and variance through proper usage of personnel
  3. Maintain high level of quality throughout the manufacturing process
  4. Effectively create an environment for thinking. Empower direct reports through ownership and accountability to maximize the value they create within the company
  5. Follow training and cross training program and implement for production staff
  6. Responsible for production, meeting daily schedule to ensure on- time delivery while minimizing overtime
  7. Inspecting finished goods for defects and ensuring products meet quality specifications
  8. Assisting in the movement of raw materials, equipment, and finished products throughout the facility.
  9. Utilize lean manufacturing principles to identify efficiency issues and suggest improvements to solve the problems
  10. Submit reports on performance and progress to direct manager
  11. Communicate job expectations, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
  12. Facilitate daily shift meetings
  13. Hands on tasking is an integral part of the role. Working alongside direct reports to meet daily production schedule.
  14. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of HS Diploma with experience; Management or Technical college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing/engineering related function
  • Computer and keyboarding skills -Excel, Databases, and Word Processing
  • Experience with any ERP and payroll systems is a plus
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills are necessary to be successful in the role
  • Experience with power tools is preferred
  • Must be able to work overtime when necessary, including extended hours
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Lean Manufacturing or 5S experience desired
  • Good understanding of safety, quality, productivity, inventory, employee relations
  • Regularly required to talk or hear, frequently required to stand; walk; bend; use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms, prolonged sitting, repetitive computer use, ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly

Wages: Hourly weekly pay: Range $40 to $44 an hour depending on skills and experience.
