Production Sonobuoy Test and Evaluation Technician will provide programmatic, analytical, and coordination support to PMA-264 in support of the Sonobuoy Quality Assurance Program (SQAP) and Production Sonobuoy Test and Evaluation activities. The technician will support the planning, execution, tracking, and reporting of production sonobuoy test events conducted at Navy test ranges and laboratory facilities. This position requires a professional capable of coordinating across government, contractor, and fleet stakeholders while supporting acquisition, test, engineering, and logistics activities associated with the AN/SSQ Series Sonobuoy portfolio. AN/SSQ Series Production Sonobuoys are the principal sensors utilized by U.S. Navy Air Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) forces to detect, classify, and localize adversary submarines. PMA-264 conducts production quality assurance and performance verification testing to ensure sonobuoys meet operational performance specifications and fleet readiness requirements. The selected candidate will serve as a key member of the program team, providing analytical support, tracking program execution, coordinating test activities, developing program documentation, and supporting leadership decision-making.
This position may allow for remote work; however, employees must be able and willing to travel and provide in-office or on-site support as required by customer requirements, project demands, or business needs.
Duties:- Support planning, coordination, and execution of Sonobuoy Quality Assurance Program (SQAP) test events.
- Develop, maintain, and track Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), action item trackers, risk registers, and program metrics.
- Coordinate with government, contractor, test range, and engineering stakeholders to facilitate successful test event execution.
- Analyze production test data, test reports, and performance trends to support program assessments and decision-making.
- Prepare briefing materials, technical summaries, meeting minutes, status reports, and executive-level communications.
- Support acquisition planning, requirements management, contract execution, and financial tracking activities.
- Monitor program milestones, deliverables, and performance objectives to ensure alignment with PMA-264 priorities.
- Coordinate travel, logistics, and administrative requirements associated with test events conducted at government facilities and test ranges.
- Interface with fleet users, engineering teams, test organizations, and program leadership to ensure effective communication and coordination across stakeholders.
- Provide recommendations to government leadership regarding program status, risks, opportunities, and execution strategies.
Required Education:Allowable Substitution:
1. Associate's Degree plus two (2) years additional work experience performing duties described in the functional description of the labor category may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
OR
2. Four (4) years additional work experience performing duties described in the functional description of the labor category may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
Required Experience:- 3+ years of relevant DoD acquisition, program management, test and evaluation, engineering support, or analytical experience.
- Experience supporting Navy or Department of Defense acquisition programs.
- Experience developing and presenting briefings, reports, and program documentation.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic program environment.
Desired Qualifications:- Experience supporting PMA-264, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), or Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) programs.
- Familiarity with sonobuoy systems, test and evaluation processes, or production quality assurance programs.
- Knowledge of DoD acquisition lifecycle processes, requirements management, and systems engineering.
- Experience with Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS), risk management, and program financial tracking.
- DAWIA or Defense Acquisition University (DAU) certification in Program Management, Test & Evaluation, or related field.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
