Summary

You will serve as a Production Shops Supervisor in the Expeditionary Maintenance Center of NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CENTER.

Duties

Help

  • You will coordinate operations of the shops branch with other organizational units of the division and command in order to provide for continuous flow of work, maximum utilization of the work force, and minimum delays.
  • You will initiate and execute personnel programs to include: recognition to include non-monetary and monetary award, beneficial suggestions, equal opportunity, professional training and growth.
  • You will transfer functions among various shops, recommend changes to procedures, and reassigns operation to conserve funds and carry out the assigned mission within cost and manpower constraints.
  • You will be responsible for shop compliance of various programs to enhance productivity, safety, and environmental compliance.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Reviewing work in progress and upon completion to assure standards of quality and quantity are met; 2) Performing repair, overhaul, and maintenance on varying types of vehicles and heavy duty mobile equipment consisting of gasoline and diesel power; and 3) Reading blueprints and prepared layouts, patterns, and sketches.

Work is split between office, shop and outdoor activities. Works outdoors spot checking work in progress, and in cases of extreme situations, continues outdoor activities irrespective to weather conditions. Exposed to all shop and field area hazards, required to wear necessary personal protection equipment when in these area.

Work is sedentary with no special physical demands. There is a requirement to walk, stand, bend, or carry light items. When overseeing work, may be required to perform in-process inspections and final inspection to ensure quality and completeness of repairs and services.
