Job Summary

The Production Manager oversees all aspects of manufacturing, ensuring that approved products are manufactured on schedule and that they conform to established company quality standards, to meet the organizational profit objectives. The Production Manager develops and formulates long- and short-range planning policies, programs, and objectives, working with company officers and senior staff members. The role develops and directs the manufacturing plan, and establishes and implements policies, procedures, and programs for maintaining and improving high standards of manufacturing operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Production
  • Meet all production quantities and delivery goals
  • Responsible for the overall quality in production
  • Following all written documented procedures.
  • In charge of all the tooling, production test equipment, and verification of calibration.
  • Monitor all KPI's related to production.
  • Responsible for all production documentation.
  • Oversees scheduling, quality adherence, processing, materials management, and packaging.

Manpower
  • Manages the production team including growing the team
  • Manages and monitors department supervisors to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures.
  • Liaises between department supervisors and subordinate levels, as well as executive and department management levels to communicate decisions, policies, and other matters with personnel.
  • Prepares and maintains a talented and fully engaged workforce and achieves ideal employee levels with the least amount of overhead and material costs to meet the budget plan.

Leadership & Strategic Collaboration
  • Executes business strategies and practices to constantly improve production capability, quality, costs, and customer service goals.
  • Responsible of planning and implementation of new programs/growth in manufacturing.
  • Understands and confirms customer production requirements and takes appropriate actions within the scope of responsibility to ensure these requirements are met.

General
  • Complies with company policies; SOPs; current Federal, state, and local regulations; and all manufacturing reporting.
  • Be knowledgeable of and comply with all federal, state, and local laws and export/import regulations.
  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to understand, define, and communicate issues in a clear and concise manner to management, suppliers, and customers.
  • May be required to support other activities to whatever extent their skills and knowledge may allow.

Basic Employment Requirements
  • Ability to analyze problems and apply knowledge of production management best practices.
  • Knowledge of ERP system flow and interaction of functional teams in manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work with others as part of a team assisting in the resolution of supplier performance, product, and quality issues.
  • Requires above average written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills with an ability to understand, define, and communicate issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Must be focused and pay high attention to detail.

Education and/or Experience
  • Defense industry experience is a plus.
  • BS degree or equivalent required as well as (7+) plus years' experience working in a related environment.
  • ERP experience a must, preferably Syteline v9+
  • Must have a minimum of seven (7) years recent managerial experience of production programs
  • Certification in high reliability electronic assembly processes, such as J-STD-001 and familiar with IPC-A-610 & 620.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications software & databases, with a focus on Excel.
