Job Description
Summary
The Fabrication Manager will lead the assigned fabrication center to plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications.
Areas of responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Supervise Production/Fabrication processes, orders and employees.
- Set clear goals and objectives to meet targets with a focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Develop strategies on value engineering fabricated goods to the customer.
- Develop benchmarks and implement best practices to exceed benchmark performance; ensure sharing best practices within and across all fabrication centers.
- Upgrade the fabrication organization at assigned fabrication center by ensuring development/training programs are in place for all production personnel.
- Maintain the required levels of raw materials in fabrication center while meeting daily targets.
- Reduce material waste in assigned fabrication center (measured as a % of sales consistent with current practice).
- Ensure that inventory levels support transfer requirements, while keeping inventory turns at target levels.
- Stay informed of products and service issues.
- Oversee purchasing, scheduling, facility maintenance and warehouse/office housekeeping.
- Establish and implement quality programs to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Make sure key supervisory personnel are trained on management, maintenance, and production methods.
- Oversee the development of preventative maintenance schedules for assigned facility equipment.
- Evaluate, recommend, and assist Leadership in identifying potential changes necessary for optimal fabrication performance.
Education, Skills, Experience, and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technical Field and/or 5+ years of related work experience
- Previous managerial experience
- Ability to train, supervise, and direct personnel
- Teamwork, multi-tasking, and leadership skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and ERP systems (Oracle is a plus)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Process driven and ability to focus on continuous improvement
- Ability to lead and drive company culture, mission and values
- Ability to lead as a hands on manager and team player
- Lean or Green Belt Six Sigma certification a plus.
- Experience in distribution and/or building and construction industry is preferred

Physical demands may include but are not limited to:
Moderate walking, standing, and/or climbing; light lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs.

Salary range $85,000 to $110,000 annually
Compensation Range
$50,000.00 - $100,000.00
