Full-Time | On-Site | 24/7 Manufacturing Plant

Role Overview

We are seeking a data driven, accountability focused Maintenance & Reliability Manager to lead the transformation of our maintenance organization. This role requires a leader who embraces ownership, builds systems where none exist, and develops people through coaching, clarity, and example within our 24/7 manufacturing facility.
The Maintenance team is viewed as leaders across the facility, and this role is responsible for strengthening that reputation. You will champion safety, drive reliability, and ensure maintenance plays a direct role in achieving our Big 3 KPIs: Productivity, Material Usage, and Scrap.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership, Culture & Extreme Ownership

  • Model a leadership mindset rooted in ownership, accountability, and humility.

  • Take responsibility for outcomes — especially those tied to the Big 3 KPIs.

  • Ensure the team understands the mission, the plan, and their role in achieving it.

  • Speak up and take action to protect your own safety and the safety of every team member you interact with.

  • Build a culture where maintenance leads by example in communication, professionalism, and problem‑solving.

  • Mentor and develop technicians, building a team that anticipates issues and solves problems at the root.

Safety Leadership

  • Champion a safety‑first culture across all activities.

  • Ensure all work is performed safely, with proper procedures, permits, and risk assessments.

  • Empower team members to stop work, speak up, and intervene when unsafe conditions exist.

  • Collaborate closely with the Safety department to reduce hazards and reinforce safe behaviors.

  • Maintain equipment to meet or exceed safety standards, ensuring safe operation for all departments.

Driving Production & Big 3 Performance

  • Take ownership of maintenance’s role in achieving Productivity, Material Usage, and Scrap targets.

  • Partner with Production to align maintenance priorities with daily, weekly, and monthly production goals.

  • Reduce unplanned downtime and improve equipment reliability to support throughput and quality.

  • Use data to identify how maintenance actions impact the Big 3 and adjust strategies accordingly.

  • Ensure maintenance planning supports stable, predictable production performance.

Systems Building & Process Development

  • Build foundational maintenance systems including:

    • Preventive and predictive maintenance programs

    • Work order and planning processes

    • Spare parts and inventory control

    • Asset management and reliability standards

  • Implement structure, documentation, and standard work where gaps currently exist.

  • Lead CMMS setup, optimization, and data integrity efforts.

Data‑Driven Maintenance Management

  • Develop and track KPIs such as downtime, MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance, and backlog health.

  • Use data to identify root causes, prioritize work, and drive reliability improvements.

  • Build dashboards and reporting tools to communicate performance to leadership.

  • Tie maintenance metrics directly to the Big 3 KPIs to reinforce shared accountability.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Production to support throughput, quality, and uptime.

  • Work with Safety to ensure compliance and risk reduction.

  • Collaborate with Continuous Improvement teams to drive Lean, TPM, and reliability initiatives.

  • Communicate proactively with all departments to ensure alignment and shared ownership of results.

Operational & Technical Oversight

  • Oversee maintenance activities for equipment, building infrastructure, and facility systems.

  • Ensure proper work control for preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and equipment modifications.

  • Manage maintenance budgets, cost controls, and resource planning.

  • Support integration of new or modified equipment as the facility grows.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 7+ years of relevant maintenance leadership experience.

  • Strong understanding of maintenance and reliability principles.

  • Demonstrated success in building systems and processes.

  • Proven ability to mentor, coach, and elevate technical teams.

  • Experience using data to drive decisions and improvements.

  • Experience in fast‑paced or high‑rate operational environments.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable with digital tools.

Preferred

  • Experience with Lean, TPM, or continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Experience leading cultural transformation or team turnarounds.

  • Experience developing and executing LDM programs.

  • Experience implementing or optimizing CMMS systems.

  • Degree in Business Management or Engineering.

What Success Looks Like

  • A safe, structured, data‑driven maintenance organization.

  • A team that leads by example and takes ownership of outcomes.

  • Strong collaboration with production, safety, warehouse, and CI teams.

  • Maintenance actions directly improving Productivity, Material Usage, and Scrap.

  • Reduced downtime and improved equipment reliability.
