Full Job Description
What You'll Do

We're looking for a Production Manager to lead our Woodbridge manufacturing facility. In this role, you will oversee plant production, lead and develop teams, and drive performance across safety, quality, and efficiency.

This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do
  • Lead, coordinate, and direct through Supervisors, the production functions of the plant by setting expectations and monitoring delegated activities.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring that all safety and environmental procedures and regulations are followed.
  • Develop production plans that minimize the cost of raw materials consumed while maximizing productivity. Oversee the production planning and scheduling functions.
  • Initiate improvements to remove bottlenecks, improve quality, and lower costs including Lean, employee training, capital improvements, maintenance (TPM, PM improvements), validating costing data, downtime analysis, production line modifications (3P's) and the addition of new capabilities
  • Be a team leader who develops and engages the production and supervisory team through regular, clear and consistent performance management and individual development planning. Foster an environment of employee engagement by embracing a culture that encourages teamwork, cooperation and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate leadership in implementing change to institute operational best practices and reduce process variance by driving continuous improvement through Lean activities (5S, SMED, Kaizen events, etc.) in all aspects of plant management.
  • Takes the lead on quality issues while establishing and maintaining consistent quality control, process flow and visual standards. Optimize raw material inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Manufacturing to create the annual business plan, develop key objectives for supervisory and production teams, and foster a safety-focused culture.
  • Coach supervisors on SSA's and LPA's, develop performance management competencies, and set SMART goals.
  • Partner with Supply Chain to develop, foster and enhance supplier relationships and ensure a reliable and cost-effective network of suppliers support for our mill.

What You Bring
  • A relevant educational degree is an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a production manager or superintendent in a manufacturing environment, or 10 years of experience as a production supervisor
  • Experience in implementing and driving Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives in a manufacturing setting. Must have experience driving plant-wide projects and safety initiatives.
  • Qualifications in LEAN, Six Sigma or Theory of Constraints.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and improve safety and plant financial performance.
  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business communications, policies, procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Must be able to write reports and business correspondences and effectively present information to management and customers.
  • Knowledge of SAP, EXCEL and CMMS.

In adherence to the principle of pay transparency, we are pleased to disclose the base pay for this full-time position at Metrie. The base pay range for this role is set at $115,000 - $130,000 per year. The specific base pay within the range will be contingent upon an individual's skills, experience and qualifications. Furthermore, it is essential to highlight that our remuneration ranges are established based on the role, level, and location.
