Production Manager

Location: Manitowoc, WI

This is a hands-on leadership role at the center of our manufacturing operations. As Production Manager, you will lead a high-performing team in a dynamic, high-mix, low-volume environment where execution, accountability, and real-time decision-making drive success. You will play a key role in delivering quality products on time while building a culture focused on safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

What You Will Do: Lead. Execute. Improve.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise production floor personal across machining and assembly operations
  • Execute daily production schedules and adjust priorities to meet customer demand
  • Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and drive corrective actions in real time
  • Maintain a strong presence on the production floor to support decision-making and team engagement
  • Ensure adherence to standard work, routings, and manufacturing processes
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture and compliance with all safety policies
  • Ensure product quality meets established standards and specifications
  • Lead resolution of production-related quality issues, including containment and corrective actions
  • Partner with engineering and quality teams on root cause analysis and process improvements
  • Drive key performance indicators including on-time deliver, labor efficiency, and inventory levels
  • Lead daily and weekly production meetings to review performance and address gaps
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve constraints and ensure smooth production flow
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives on the production floor
  • Improve production flow, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency
  • Implement and sustain visual management and standard work practices

Qualifications and Experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations with a strong focus on production floor execution
  • 2+ years of leadership experience supervising production teams in a hands-on environment
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams, driving accountability and performance
  • Demonstrated success in improving production outcomes, meeting schedules, and delivering on-time results
  • Experience in a high-mix, low-volume or job shop environment, preferred
  • Working knowledge of metal forming, CNC machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly operations
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) to support production planning and execution
  • Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutions
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across materials, engineering, and leadership teams
  • Demonstrated ownership of operational performance, with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, small-team environment and lead through change
