Job Title: Production Manager

Job Summary

IKO is a global leader in manufacturing roofing products with production facilities worldwide. We are currently seeking a Production Manager to join our team of skilled professionals based at our Bismarck, Missouri plant. This plant produces granules for our shingle plants in a high speed, continuous, asphalt shingle manufacturing process environment

Job Summary

The Production Manager is a hands-on, leadership-driven role responsible for overseeing plant operations at the Bismarck, MO facility. The role fosters cross-functional collaboration across Quality, Maintenance, HR, and Logistics, emphasizing a culture of Safety first, continuous improvement, employee development, and operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership and coaching to production supervisors and employees to meet all safety, environmental, quality, cost and service goals and objectives.


  • Partnering with the Quality Control Coordinator to ensure that finished product meets all customer requirements through continuous improvement and utilization of the plant quality management system.


  • Partnering with the Maintenance Manager to ensure equipment reliability at optimal efficiency and cost.


  • Providing leadership and support to the overall reliability strategy, including the involvement of production employees in TPM.


  • Partner with the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to ensure optimization of the manufacturing schedule and adjust as necessary to provide required levels of service to our customers in the most cost-effective manner.


  • Providing leadership to maintain a highly engaged workforce. Partners with HR in areas of performance management, employee involvement, organizational change, staffing, and employee development.


  • Providing leadership to drive continuous improvement through the application of methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, 5S, working directly with the production and maintenance teams.


  • Assuring employee training (Safety, Quality, Process) is effective and complete.


  • Mentoring immediate direct reports and establishing an effective team that is accountable and capable of achieving all performance goals.


  • Assuring plant housekeeping meets company standards, implements, and maintains a 5S program to sustain improvements.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is a plus; relevant work experience will also be considered.


  • Minimum of 5 years' supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment


  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification a plus


  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills


  • Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing


  • Proficient with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint


  • Proven history of operational enhancement and improvements through employee engagement

Safety and Compliance

The Production Manager is expected to comply with all safety policies, regulatory requirements, and company procedures to ensure safe and compliant operations at all times. The Control Room Operator must prioritize safety in all tasks', ensuring equipment is operated responsibly, and plant procedures are strictly followed to protect personnel, equipment, and product quality.
