Full Job Description
Petro-Hunt, L.L.C., a Dallas, Texas mid-sized independent oil and gas exploration company, is seeking a Production Engineer for its Uptown Dallas office.

Job Description:

Duties will include, but not be limited to, optimizing well performance across multiple domestic basins through production surveillance, artificial lift design, and data-driven analysis. The Production Engineer will monitor well performance, identify optimization opportunities, and coordinate field execution to maximize asset value.This role requires close collaboration with Operations, Completions, Reservoir, Land, and Regulatory teams as a key contributor to the full life-of-well cycle. The successful candidate will track and report performance metrics, analyze production trends, and recommend improvements through both engineering design and field execution. While primarily an office-based role, the candidate should be willing to spend time in the field supporting operations, troubleshooting issues, and working alongside field personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support safe and efficient production operations through participation in risk assessments and implementation of best practices.
  • Monitor and analyze production data, including SCADA systems and fluid levels, to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Design, implement, and optimize artificial lift systems (rod lift, gas lift, ESP, etc.).
  • Coordinate with field personnel to develop and execute workover procedures.
  • Track equipment and well failures; perform failure analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review daily production reports and identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Work cross-functionally with Reservoir, Completions, and Operations teams to maximize production and recovery.
  • Evaluate well performance and recommend interventions such as stimulations, recompletions, or lift changes.
  • Maintain and analyze production and operational data using company software systems.
  • Ensure production programs and supporting documentation are accurate and delivered on time.
  • Liaise with field supervisors to monitor ongoing operations and ensure quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Be reasonably available after hours to assist with operational issues or field emergencies.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning and execution of workovers and well interventions.
  • Review and approve invoices with guidance from Production or Operations Manager.
  • Provide supporting documentation for regulatory reporting and compliance.
  • Conduct benchmarking and competitor analysis to identify best practices.
  • Participate in field development planning and production forecasting efforts.

Requirements:
