Job Description

Stepan is seeking a Production Engineer to join our plant team in Anaheim, CA. In this role, you will report to the Plant Manager and be an integral member of the Anaheim team. The individual in this role will be responsible for managing and controlling safe, reliable and efficient production areas. Additional responsibilities include but not limited too:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Track and monitor process data to learn the production processes
  • Work with the operators to troubleshoot daily issues
  • Track and monitor unplanned downtime and rate/cycle time deviations
  • Visiting the control rooms on a regular basis to assist the operators with any issues with equipment reliability, quality, etc
  • Ensuring the product quality meets specification by working with R&D and QC to develop and drive "right the first time" (RFT) processes
  • Issue MOC's for process changes and follow up on related action items
  • Assist in Process Hazard Analysis and handle action items appropriately


Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical/problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience with computer systems (ERP, Customer/Supplier portals, WMS); SAP preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint).
  • Demonstrated abilities in time management and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of sources, including upper management, other departments, external vendors/customers/partners, and operations/operators.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Physical Requirements and Environment
  • Must be willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed shoes, full face respirator, hearing protection, etc.
  • Ability to work in high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, and noisy surroundings.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in chemical plant environment with hazardous materials.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs/ladders over 50ft.


Education

  • Bachelor degree required; Chemical Engineering preferred


Pay Range: $77,000 - $100,000

The salary range for this position is determined by considering a variety of factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and the location of the position.
