What We Are Looking For

This position is responsible for providing Well Operations Engineering support for safe and efficient well work operations for Kinder Morgan's Permian EOR fields.

What You Will Do

Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Completes well operations engineering assignments of a broad scope.
  • Works directly with surveillance, development, operations, and geoscience teams.
  • Responsible for maintaining workover and completion rig schedules.
  • Liaison between field superintendents, supervisors and office personnel.
  • Material management, including but not limited to, tubing and casing inventory.
  • Develops Request for Materials (RFM) as needed, working directly with Procurement.
  • OPEX & CAPEX budget management and forecasting.
  • Major Project Review (MPR) forecast development and reporting.

What You Need

Minimum requirements:

Education:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering

Experience / specific knowledge:
  • 4-10 years relevant oil and gas experience w/ an emphasis on downhole operations.
  • Good overall practical oilfield operations knowledge.
  • Title and compensation commensurate with level of experience.

Certifications, licenses, registrations:
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.

Competencies, skills, and abilities:
  • Participates in multidisciplinary team discussions in regards to field development and associated well activities.
  • Schedules and coordinates rig moves in accordance with the pattern activation schedule.
  • Reviews completion and workover procedures, and ensures material availability as needed.
  • Significantly contributes to meeting business objectives by implementing field development projects.
  • Experience in oil and gas financial management and reporting.
  • Demonstrates strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Extremely detail oriented.
  • Mentors other engineers as necessary.
  • Experience in developing technical documents such as AFEs, procedures, presentations to management, etc. (written and verbal skills)
  • Good time management skills. Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Data management and manipulation.
  • Non-supervisory, but expected to take leadership roles in projects.

Physical demands:
  • Currently living in, or willing to move to, Midland, TX
  • Weekly travel to field location.
  • Safety sensitive position.

Working conditions:
  • 80/20 office and job site (outside) work locations
  • Hybrid Work Schedule
  • Working after hours, nights, weekends, holidays and on-call as needed.


Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities:

Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:
    • IADC Well Control Certified
    • Experience working in CO2 Floods
    • Experience working with Well Ops contractors in and around existing assets
